Stumbled upon one of the coolest Packers clips I hadn't ever seen before. Nuts! Does anyone here remember this??

That whole season ( The Ray Rhodes Era) was crazy. "4 Jet All Go" to beat the Raiders in the opener

I remember watching the game and they kept showing updates from Carolina and the net scores. Beuerlein was the Carolina QB and he was lighting it up that day. But what many fans forgot was that GB was in a playoff tie with Carolina due to Beuerlein's clutch play earlier in the season. GB had played Carolina a few weeks earlier and it came down to the last play of the game from the Packers 5 yard line. 5 seconds left, No time-out , do or die for the Panthers. And old man Beuerlein called a QB draw and ran it in to beat the Packers 33-31.

Cool story Shane, as usual.

My first game was a 29-3 win over Arizona in 2000, so this Ray Rhode season was the last few games I would never see. Ryan Longwell's five field goals put us over the edge lol.

I think the list of people who DIDN'T want to cut Davante Adams two years ago was me and Norm and two other people.  I think the people who expected Davante Adams to be a legitimate receiver was me and Norm.  If I had Twitter, I'd be sure to let Adams know that.

He was complete trash that year .. worst receiver in football according to some metrics at the time.  I don't think a lot of us had any idea that he was nearly as banged us as he was.  Sometimes fans tend to think that if a guy is playing he's near 100 percent, but in Adams case I think he was limited so much he probably should have been shelved.  Randall is another guy who just can't seem to function at less than 100 percent.

That's because you are the smartest of us

He was playing hurt and obviously shouldn't have been on the field, but even hurt Adams was one of their best options at that point. I thought he had potential to be a solid to good #2 but he rebounded even better than I hoped.

If Jordy wasn't out and Monty wasn't hurt and Cobb wasn't dealing with his AC joint, GB would have shut down Adams for the year. They literally had no other options available. The Packers also didn't want other teams to know how badly Davante was hurt, so most of the fans were in the dark too.

I'm on record as endorsing never cutting anybody on a rookie contract unless:

- He gets beaten out by enough guys in training camp that he ends up outside the best n at his position.

- He has some legal or medical situation that means you want to be rid of him completely.

Guys on rookie deals are cheap; that's the primary value of draft picks.  Which is to say, short of "career ending injury" or "he committed a felony" I'm against cutting Spriggs.

I don't think I was ever on team cut Davante
