GB had played Carolina a few weeks earlier and it came down to the last play of the game from the Packers 5 yard line. 5 seconds left, No time-out , do or die for the Panthers. I think the people who expected Davante Adams to be a legitimate receiver was me and Norm. If I had Twitter, I'd be sure to let Adams know that. I don't think a lot of us had any idea that he was nearly as banged us as he was. Sometimes fans tend to think that if a guy is playing he's near 100 percent, but in Adams case I think he was limited so much he probably should have been shelved. If Jordy wasn't out and Monty wasn't hurt and Cobb wasn't dealing with his AC joint, GB would have shut down Adams for the year. They literally had no other options available. I'm on record as endorsing never cutting anybody on a rookie contract unless: - He gets beaten out by enough guys in training camp that he ends up outside the best n at his position. - He has some legal or medical situation that means you want to be rid of him completely. Guys on rookie deals are cheap; that's the primary value of draft picks. Which is to say, short of "career ending injury" or "he committed a felony" I'm against cutting Spriggs.
