Leader
NY Post: The Rams weren’t the only losers on Super Bowl Sunday. New Jersey sportsbooks lost more than $4.5 million on the $34 million plus that was wagered in the state on the 2019 Super Bowl, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement announced Monday. The loss, after the low scoring nature of the Patriots’ 13-3 victory, represents a negative hold percentage of 13.11 percent for the first Super Bowl that was able to be gambled on legally in the state. New Jersey legalized sports betting this past June.

A really good CB1? Really good safety? Weakest position ILB? Are we sure that Dom won't succeed there? Arthur Penske
I've picked an AAF team. The Salt Lake Stallions. This could be an amazing way to fill the offseason. Edited February 11, 2019 by Arthur Penske

I still haven't! I came in wanting to cheer for the Legends, but I thought Aaron Murray and Denard Robinson would have a big role there. With Childress gone that team is a mess. I am open for business, don't want to choose the Apollo's because a) they looked the best, and b) who tf is GIlbert... but watching Spurrier hobble around on the sideline made me sympathetic towards them haha I watched Memphis yesterday and Hack is so bad. Next week I'll watch Salt Lake and Arizona. I think I'm between Orlando and those two
Packer_ESP
Looking at the list of teams I was almost ready to root for Memphis Express, a combination of being one of the least cringe names (boy that says something about the rest) and being a city I've previously rooted for (Grizzlies due to the Gasol ties). I've found the uniforms now though and most of that enthusiasm has faded... I never thought blue and red could be combined in such a hideous fashion. I think I'm going to opt for the San Antonio Commanders, though I probably won't know for sure until I watch some games and see how I feel. Basically the name stallions and that they’re from Salt Lake. I don’t really like any of the other cities that have teams. Packerraymond
AAF needs to cut a deal with the NFL already. The league needs a development league. Have each team designate 5-10 players to a given roster. Will be mutually beneficial. NFL teams get some of their PS players some actual game snaps, and NFL fans get a direct tie to a team to watch and see if any of their young guys have potential giving AAF better ratings. Only downside really is the threat of injury, but for these UDFA or PS types that are on the back end of a roster that risk could be worth it if they show they can play and earn a role the following year. Also, we can stop experimenting with rules and costing teams games (Minnesota game) and start experimenting in the AAF season.

It may be because I'm a recent NFL fan so I don't value tradition as much as others do, but I'm already excited about things like forced 2-point conversions and the overtime rules. The 12 yard play instead of the onside kick doesn't convince me though.

Agree completely - plus from the Owners perspective - they get to lay the groundwork for potential expansion (not my preferred option....) or threatened move to new markets. While there's some overlap on team locations - the AAF does put teams into relatively new / secondary markets.

I watched one game each day, but I'll be honest I was doing other things while they were on too and didn't see it. The overtime rule is basically the NHL doing only a shootout with no OT. I don't like it. I understand that their goal is to keep games shorter, but I would much prefer an overtime period with both teams having a chance to score. If neither team scores or if they tie in the OT period, then do the 1 possession from the 10 yard line. But again that won't happen, because time. And money is why the League has resisted this developmental effort for decades. The NFL has a carefully crafted image and a monopoly on pro football in the US. They have also set the bar pretty high in terms of "quality" and we hear Roger whining about with regards to preseason - "it doesn't meet our high standards" The last thing they want is for fans to realize that there are other leagues, or that cheaper games, jerseys and hot dogs are available. It also takes some of the anticipation away from the upcoming season, competes with the offseason activities and may potentially impact our obsession with the draft and free agency. I'm not agreeing with that stance, but that's why they've stayed away from anything and everything they cannot completely control for their own monetary benefit. They showed these games on NFL Network and had their contracted employees as announcers and analysts. It's clear the league views the XFL as competition, but it's also clear they don't view the AAF the same.
