Schefter: NFL awarded compensatory draft picks today - Patriots and Rams each received two third-round picks.

I think NE started the day with 12 picks. Now they have 14?
Is so, they're gonna be wheeling and dealing this offseason.

Bill Belichick is the most underrated GM of all time.  Terrible drafting GM though, so it evens out.

I like to think Bill goes into the draft with 15 total players on his board, completely dependent on their work ethic, and the ones he doesn't get he just trades a day 3 pick for 2 years later

NY Post: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took fast action to disable potential access to their playbook when a player’s team-issued tablet was stolen from his car.

Running back Peyton Barber, who was visiting Atlanta, told police his SUV was broken into early Saturday morning. His tablet, passport and other items were taken, according to Atlanta police. Police said there was playbook information on the tablet, but the Buccaneers told WSB-TV that only videos were on it.

“We were able to remotely disable the Surface tablet once we were informed. There was no playbook info on the computer, just some self scout videos, etc. … nothing of much importance, ” the team statement said.

This guy was a draft crush of many Packers fans a couple years ago, wasn't he?

I seem to recall the hedge against him was his injury history. How'd he far while a Bengal?
Odd they're giving up on him after only....what? Two years?

I seem to recall that he was described as being a very good route runner, to go with that pure speed.

I liked him enough to offer a fifth round pick for him now.  He seems like he is young enough to still have a lot of upside.

I don't do a fourth or better, because I think the draft is pretty deep at the WR and OT/OG position through round four.

They might be trying to trade him now to improve his trade value. You're getting a guy with still two years left on his rookie deal plus a 5th year option so a team might be willing to give up a better pick knowing they have Ross for at least 2 more years on a rookie deal, plus an additional 3rd year under the option if he's worth keeping.

There's something to be learned from this guys history......he's got no stats.
2017 (Rookie year) - he played 3 games - got 2 targets - 0 receptions. I think it was a knee injury.
2018 - 13 games - 21 receptions - 210 total yards.

And for that lack of stats, he's gonna cost 4.6M this year ; 5.4M in 2020.
Looks like a salary - bad draft pick - dump.

A lot of that is dead cap for Cincy, which explains the timing of the move because it makes him a potentially intriguing trade asset if there is a team who thinks they can turn him into a player. Would cost about $2M, & $2.8M for 2019/2020, plus a 5th-year option available in 2021.
