They got an extension on the exemption, but we don't know when that ends...it could be today, it could be tomorrow, maybe even Sunday, don't know. I imagine that they'll see how he practices today and tomorrow and then determine whether to activate him for the game. I would think they'd have to make a move if they decide he can play. My original understanding was the exemption would allow for a 54-man active roster for a week. Not really an exemption if a cut had to be made before the game. They got a roster exemption as far as for practicing, but for the actual game they can't have more than 53, so they could have just not activated him to the 53-man roster, and they would have been okay. But, since they activated him, they had to get rid of someone on the 53-man roster. It's similar to when Teddy begins practicing after the Packers' game. For 3 weeks of practice, he doesn't count on the 53-man roster as long as they choose not to activate him...but if they activate him to the 53-man roster anytime during that period, they'll have to get rid of someone.
