Has anyone officially been cut for Floyd yet?

We're expecting it to be Adams, but no...nothing has been made official at this point. They got an extension on the exemption, but we don't know when that ends...it could be today, it could be tomorrow, maybe even Sunday, don't know.

Edit: It's for the entire week...so, apparently, they may not have to cut anyone, unless they choose to activate him for this game.

Nope. Per Tomasson, they have a one-week roster exemption. So cut not necessary until next week?

Looks like it was one week as in seven days, not one game week.

I don't think that's a given...I think if they had chosen not to activate him, then they wouldn't have had to cut anyone until tomorrow.

My original understanding was the exemption would allow for a 54-man active roster for a week. Not really an exemption if a cut had to be made before the game.

I never was under that particular belief, as the Bears certainly would have called foul.  They got a roster exemption as far as for practicing, but for the actual game they can't have more than 53, so they could have just not activated him to the 53-man roster, and they would have been okay.  But, since they activated him, they had to get rid of someone on the 53-man roster.

It's similar to when Teddy begins practicing after the Packers' game.  For 3 weeks of practice, he doesn't count on the 53-man roster as long as they choose not to activate him...but if they activate him to the 53-man roster anytime during that period, they'll have to get rid of someone.

Gotcha. That makes much more sense.
