Usually, a trainwreck leads to injuries. In the NFL, however, injuries help lead to a trainwreck. That was certainly the case in Denver this season, as the Broncos led the NFL in Football Outsiders' adjusted games lost metric which measures injuries to starters and important situational players.

The Pittsburgh Steelers finished with a league-low 32.0 AGL and missed the playoffs, but the next four teams with the fewest AGL did make it to the postseason. Jacksonville was second, the Super Bowl teams Philadelphia and Kansas City were third and fourth, and Minnesota was fifth.

Partially one of the reasons that the Vikings did make the playoffs was their health.  The Vikings were #21 in 2021, which was partially the reason why they didn't then...and does reflect that Zimmer didn't do a really bad job coaching (but it probably still was time for it to be over).

This is a way early look at the potential for 2024 comp picks...the Vikings have a high potential with the pending FAs being Bradbury, Mattison, Smith Jr, Tomlinson (if he doesn't return), Sullivan and P2 (if he doesn't return).

I'm not following. It saves almost ~$8M against the cap, leaving another ~$8M to get compliant. How does it not help?

Trades can’t finalize until after the new year begins, but teams need to be cap compliant by the time it begins.

if medicals are good, easy restructure.

That's certainly the easiest move to make of all of them, which is probably why that's waiting to be made.  Convert a good portion of his salary to signing bonus, pushing his cap hits down the road.

Got it, thanks.

I'd be tempted to just say "yes" to the trade without even knowing what was offered.

you can still get cap compliant with a trade of Dalvin.

Oneill retructure

harrison paycut from 14.7m to 9m gets you there; but like...right there at $241,746 under the cap....lol

then you can make thielen a post 6/1 designation.

Doogie goes on to talk about how slim the running back market is this offseason, which could be driving up the trade market on Cook. That gives Kwesi an easy out if he’d rather funnel cap space to other parts of the roster.

The cap savings for trading Dalvin Cook would be the same as cutting him, according to Spotrac. If the Minnesota Vikings release him before June 6, they’ll save $8 million against the cap next season. If they do it after June 6, it’ll save them exactly $10 million against the cap.
