At first glance it’s hard to see how the Bills could get Diggs more opportunities. His stats last year all ranked in the top five in the NFL — 154 targets, 108 catches, 1,429 yards, and 11 touchdowns. Since joining the Bills for the 2020 season, Diggs is top six in all of those stats, and his 484 targets rank second behind only Davante Adams.

But a closer look does reveal a few reasons for Diggs to be upset. Over the last six games in 2023, including two playoff games, Diggs caught just one touchdown pass and averaged a meager 63 receiving yards. per game. In the playoff loss to the Bengals, a listless, blowout defeat at home, Diggs had just four catches for 35 yards.

Diggs may not have connected as well with new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey after thriving for two years with former coordinator Brian Daboll.

Both sides need each other. Diggs will have a hard time finding a better situation than the one he has in Buffalo, where the Bills are one of the top Super Bowl contenders, his quarterback is one of the best in the game, and the team appears committed to feeding him the ball.

That speaks more to teams ensuring that Diggs doesn't beat them than it does a poor gameplan. If Buffalo gets a guy to take the focus off Diggs to open him up more, he'll get mad that the other guy is getting targets. If a team knows you're going to force the ball to a guy, they're pretty good about scheming ways to make that more difficult. I'd love to see the Bills trade him to the Cardinals.

yes, i reacted the same way. and that as you get to the end of the year and the playoffs, you're playing higher quality opponents.

Diggs really isn't a chess player, nor understands how many facets there are to a NFL team being successful. i thin tic-tac-toe might be the level he sees the world in.

They drafted Kincaid for this reason. He should expand their offense.

James Cook should add some explosion to their run game as well.

the best line from that Boston Globe article:

"You can tell that Bills coach Sean McDermott played safety in college and coached defensive backs in the NFL. This past week, he showed off an impressive backpedal."

Wasswa Serwanga was even impressed.  😉

With 81 Days to go until the Home Opener, we thought it was a great time to highlight one of the most underrated Vikings WRs of all time, #81 Anthony Carter.

Playing for the Vikings for 9 seasons (133 games), AC managed 478 receptions (5th all-time Vikings franchise) for 7,636 yards (3rd all-time Vikings franchise) and 52 receiving touchdowns (4th all-time Vikings franchise). In January of 1988 AC broke the NFL Playoff single game receiving record with 227 yards vs the 49ers. While the record was broken by Eric Moulds in 1999, AC’s monster game still ranks 2nd all time. Making the Pro Bowl 3 times in ‘87, ‘88 and ‘89, Anthony Carter deserves to be recognized as one of the Vikings all-time greats!

With 80 days to go until the Home Opener, we thought it was a great time to highlight one of the best WRs in Vikings history, #80 Cris Carter! Through 16 seasons in the NFL, CC managed an astounding 13,899 yards receiving (13th all-time), 1,101 receptions (6th all-time) and 130 receiving touchdowns (4th all-time) and he still holds the all-time Vikings WR records for all three categories. Along with being selected to 8 straight Pro-Bowls ('93 - '00, all for the Vikings), Carter also produced 122 receptions in a single-season twice - back to back in '94 & '95, which was an all-time Vikings record for 27 years until JJ broke it last season (128).

He played with intensity and heart and was arguably the best sideline receiver ever to play the game. Cris Carter was selected to the Vikings Ring of Honor in 2003 and inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2013. He is forever known as not just one of the Vikings best all time WRs, but one of the greatest in NFL history.

I think it’s a combination of things.

Diggs history. How the Bills season ended. Media being media. Poor choice of words from McDermott at minicamp.

I don’t doubt there is some animosity between Diggs and likely Ken Dorsey. Maybe some others on staff as well. But financially there is no way Buffalo trades him and unless something else comes out there is no reason to believe the relationship between him and Allen has soured.
