Michael Bennet somehow traded to the Eagles. What the heck.

So what does that put Philly over the cap now, $18 million? Going to be interesting seeing who gets let go. I know they already talked about Curry but that won't be the only guy.

Curry and Torrey Smith are for sure gone.

Bennett only going to be around a 2 million dollar cap hit for next season.

By cutting Vinny Curry, the Eagles would save 5 million. If they trade him, they'd save 6 million.

The Eagles essentially upgraded Curry's roster spot and in the process saved either 3 or 4 million dollars in salary cap space.

$1.65 million base and roster bonuses totaling $5 million. The $1.7 million signing bonus will be on the Seahawks books.

Good move for the Eagles. Don't think they should have any worries about Bennett disrupting the locker room. It looks extremely strong and if Bennett doesn't fit in, he'll be out. Simple as.

Seattle are in rebuild, and it's the right time for them to do it. Both Bennett and Sherm out the door and Carroll is looking to the future.

Oh I see. So in a way, the Eagles could wind up breaking even in terms of money saved with this move but in the process, they would be greatly upgrading that position.

When is the last time a team was built as much through trades and free agency as the Eagles are that saw success like they did this past season? Kind of crazy. That aren't many franchise players that were drafted by them. Cox, Graham, Wentz, Lane Johnson, Ertz and who else?

On the other hand, the last time they build a dream team through FA, it didn't go so well.

And that is more the norm than what they experienced last year.

As far as Bennet goes, his impact off the field is greatly exaggerated. He'll fit right in with Chris Long and Malcolm Jenkins. Whats interesting is that, even with arguably the best young QB in the game, the Eagles are surrounding him with older talent, trying to cash in soon and repeat. They are really limited in terms of draft picks and cap space and if they don't cash in soon, they may have to restock with a lot of talent soon.

I know other Seahawks fans won’t be too happy, but I’m all for it. Wish we could’ve gotten more but we’ve got little to no leverage. We hold onto these pieces for too long and it restricts us from actively signing other players. If we were going to get rid of our old aging pieces, it had to be now and the rest of the league knows that.

Get rid of him, Sherm, Thomas, Chancellor, Wright. Let’s try our best to reload.
