Sixers can still rent him for a year without blowing the future...

Dario Saric, Zhaire Smith and Landry Shamet plus a couple future 1sts.  That’s basically five 1st rounders.

That's still a very hefty price.

Now that LeBron has agreed to sign with the Lakers, would you still do that deal?

Yes! Like getting Kawhi wasnt contingent on whether LeBron goes to Philly or not. It wouldve been great if they got Kawhi to entice LeBron but it wasnt the end all be all. The 76ers know they have to compete with the Celtics who are stacked with talent. If the 76ers can get Kawhi and pair him with Simmons and Embiid it helps them out alot to compete with the Celtics. Is it a risk? Yes, but we saw the same thing play out in OKC and George ended up staying so we cant assume anything this far out. Let this year play out then see what frame of mind Kawhi will be in next summer. Maybe he will love it in Philly and decide to stay.

It's going to be damn near impossible for Kawhi to pass up on going home and playing with the Lakers over staying in Philadelphia.  He'd leave there in a heartbeat IMO.  If you want to gamble he'll stick around, go right ahead.  This isn't Paul George situation all over again.

If Nike/Jordan offers Kawhi a signature shoe deal while he's in Philly, he'll stay in Philly. Kawhi just wants to grow his brand in a market bigger than S.A. Philly is easily capable of that.

The doctor who has led his rehab is the 76ers head physician.  That's a big pull IMO.

And why? George definitely wanted to go to LA and didnt mind playing with LeBron. From all reports, Kawhi doesnt want to play with LeBron because he dont want all the media circus that comes along with him. Yes he could go to the Clippers but again if Kawhi goes to Philly and see the amount of success they could have and get to build the relationships with Embiid and Simmons, who knows if we will do what George did once he built a relationship with Russ and just stay.

That's not from all reports and if he's worried about a media circus then LA is the wrong city for him to go to.  That makes no sense.

Why does it matter what market Leonard is in to receive a shoe deal from the Jordan Brand?

Based off the contract that Paul George agreed to, it was about money.  There was no reason for him to take a 3+1 instead of a 2+1.

It's funny because Saric and Zhaire are players that you expect to end up on the Spurs. It's basically destiny for this deal to happen.

It probably is, but there's a reason the report has always been that Leonard would prefer to go to the Lakers.
