Just heard on NFL Network: since 2015 when the game is within 7 points in the 4th quarter, Mack is:

1st in sacks
1st in QB hurries
2nd in QB hits

(among all defensive players in football)

Per SIS team. Top 50 defenders in total pressures since 2015 among all 1,004 players who registered atleast 0.5 over the same span - Sorted by total and also added avg per year and where each players' ranks in each category.

***Keep in mind though, pressure rate percentages carry more weight than the actual totals do--especially when looking at the team totals and OPP play direction. The same with sacks. I have them saved some place but I'm too lazy to keep looking and way too lazy to calculate them this late.

That video, hilarious.  I'll watch it a few more times before bed.

I like this trade, although I'm skeptical.  Maybe it's because of the Cutler trade from 10 years ago.  We needed pass rush help and Mack is a top 3 defensive player.  I first heard this Saturday morning going to my parents house. That was my nieces move-in day at her college.  I spent the day looking at the nfl and Bears apps to see if the trade was official.  We all know it was Saturday evening.  Won't this trade stun the growth of Iggy and Fitts?  Fitts looked good in the preseason(against 2nd and 3rd stringers but he had a couple sacks)  I can't wait to see Mack get 10+ sacks for the next 6+ years.

The last thing on my mind was the stunted growth of a 6th round pick and a rookie ILB.

Ditto. While Floyd is out they will get plenty of reps.

Iggy was’t going to play defensive snaps anyway. I’d argue the Bears not including Trevathan or Kwiatkoski in the Mack deal essentially sealed his fate there. He seems to be destined for ST.

As for Fitts, he’s still going to play a handful of snaps each week.

Ah crap. I misread. I thought it said Irving. He would be rotating with Fitts.

Iggy is special teams, he's the 4th ILB with 3 guys WAY above him.

Still in shock a bit that this happened though we discussed it for a month.

As hold out grew more of us started speculating that we could actually get him or that we should be on phone trying. Most everywhere said it was impossible or price would be too high to contemplate.

Then deal was done, but details weren't released.  It sounded like price was too high when they said two 1's and a player.  Imagining player to be a good young piece like Roquan,  it sounded like deal might be bittersweet at best.

Then we heard two 1's and a 3 for Mack and a 2 and a 5 with no player and drew a sigh of relief.

Bears have their young core in place for 3 years because they drafted fairly well and signed young free agents.  Whole team U 27. Draft picks in next couple of years are bonuses and most will be of little impact fighting for just a few available positions.

I love this move. My only criticism is contract was a little high, but even that is negated by a presumably rising cap.

Don't expect greatness week 1, Smith and Mack havent practiced this summer, Floyd is hurt, Shaheen is hurt, Hicks and Smith may be hurt, Robinson is coming off ACL and MT is still inexperienced.

But talent is in place - finally.

Oh and that Hitler video is all time classic. We need to find author of that.  "Everyone who thinks my girlfriend looks like a man leave the room." "Don't worry, Cobb is still elite."  LOL

From the subreddit:  Aaron Rodgers reaction to the Bears trading for Khalil Mack

I'd "like" that, but Danica is pretty darn hot...:D

Congrats on getting an elite of the elite defensive player.  The guy is a great leader as well.  Never gets into trouble off the field and has zero injury concerns.  Fantastic trade by the Bears.  Love it.

Thanks, showtime! A lot of people have also brought up how he's a great leader, and I honestly didn't know that before. The Bears really need that; young team, new coach, etc.

This is a dominant NFL player. A truly elite player. The Bears have a lot of good players, but they have lacked dominant players. There has to be some game changers on the team and now the Bears have one at a key spot. Good players have a ceiling. Your ceiling goes up when you have some game wreckers.

There are 3 ways to win a Superbowl as far as I can see.

1.     Have a truly elite QB.

2.     Have elite players around an average QB.

3.     Have elite players and a cheap elite QB [Eagles]

Now the Bears put themselves at worse to be #2, if Mitch is not a top QB, and at best #3 which is the golden spot to be in for an NFL team.

Mack himself is not only a dominant player, but he is durable 64 straight starts, and he is a high character locker room leader. You are not getting someone who isn’t going to maximize what they bring to the team.

The Bears have a window to win with Trubisky making no money. The Rams and Eagles have shown that you need to be super aggressive when you have a cheap QB because once they are paid you need to fundamentally change how you build your team. People who are upset about the draft picks being traded because they are cost controlled are missing the point that now is the time that “cost controlled” doesn’t matter. Cost controlled is going to become the most important thing in 4 years when Trubisky gets paid. Good for Ryan Pace not wasting cheap years of Trubisky being scared.

I like how the earlier thread just started talking about it organically when it was a long shot.  Fascinating time capsule.  Not that this this thread is corporate. LOL.

Remember punk rock? This car is like punk rock. (10 pts for whoever gets that reference to one of dumbest commercials ever made.)

Last night I watched coaches tape of Mack before bed since they have it for 2017 games in xbox gamepass app now.  I picked game 8 at random, just wanting mid season look at our new stud.  It was vs. Bills.

Man did I choose wrong. He kind of slept walk through that game.  My enthusiasm is not diminished he still has best stats of any player over last 4 years and you can see he got doubled more than anybody.  Not a resume tape though.

Raiders as a team looked like they were sleep walking that day aside from a handful of non key guys who were really going hard.  Tough to play through a lost season when you had high expectations going in.  I think they lost it mentally.  You can just tell.
