Can College Football go under 'random'? Why not??!

How about my Sooners! Wow! Watched every moment of that game but at no point did I expect quite that result. I was hoping it would happen, but didn't dare count on it. Lincoln Riley has certainly started his tenure as HC of Oklahoma football with a bang!

Sure - this fits the random category. And yeah, the Sooners look to be off to a great start. Time to take them seriously.

In case you missed my other comment on this ... I think Riley and his staff badly out-coached Meyer and his staff. Bodes well for their future.

So I listened to Scotty M on Adam Schefter's radio show / podcast thingy whatever. There was a pretty fascinating discussion on how things played out in 2011 / 2012.

So apparently, Seattle's front office really liked Andy Dalton in 2011, and were going to take him in 2011. However, the coaching staff really didn't like him, so there was a bit of an argument, and the coaching staff won out. Obviously, Dalton went to Cincy, but one of the things this meant was that the Seahawks still needed a quarterback in 2012. So in 2012, the staff really liked Wilson (though the FO was lukewarm on him). But they weren't the only ones. Apparently, according to Shefty, Washington was set to take him in round 4 if he was there as he was their top choice. Of course, the Seahawks did take him, which meant that the Shanny's had to go with their next choice - Kirk Cousins (and if that doesn't go to show that the Mike and Kyle didn't like RG3, I don't know what does - They didn't just take Cousins because he was there and they liked the value, they appeared to always want to draft a second quarterback). Overall, I thought that was a pretty interesting sequence of events.

So Shanny's thought/knew that Wilson>Cousins>RG3?

If this is true I'm kind of really warming up to the idea of Shanny coaching a guy like Mayfield which will make some here happy I'm sure haha. I love what Mayfield brings to the field attitude wise and he just strikes me as a guy who breathes football and understands the game very well. He actually reminds me a little of Wilson. Hopefully this would allow us to address another position with our assumed early 1st and maybe grab Mayfield with one of our 2nds. Obviously a long time until then and if Mayfield continues his play throughout we may have to package both 2nds to move back into the 1st to get him but as you can tell the draft never stops in my mind.

My laptop keyboard has been a real pain lately - half the keys have ceased working on my left hand. Making it a pain to try and type posts, so I finally I had enough and ordered a new one. I thought about trying to fix it myself, but there was no guarantee it would work, and as an ultra book, I really hate taking those apart given how small they are, and it was a couple of years old, so I figured why not.  Got the notice that it shipped today - should be here tomorrow or friday. Kinda stoked. 512 GB PCIe SSD drive with 2TB hybrid second drive, 32 gb ram, i7 7700HQ processor with GTX 1070 graphics card. Can't wait to unleash that monster.

Also, my gf's sister is getting divorced in a relationship that has gotten seriously contentious. Like really bad. He basically gave her a week to get out of the house. So guess where her and her five, yes five, dogs will be staying for a while? Not looking forward to that...keep in mind, we ourselves already have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a ten month old baby....
