What do you guys think of the Wrestle Kingdom Card so far? I feel like it's not having the quality of the previous years, which is very disappointing. I get why they make it a 2-day event, but at least this year you could have done better by a 1-day event. That Tanahashi match f.ex. is absolutely ridiculous. They should have come up with something better for him. Another match between EVIL and SANADA, which doesn't interest me at all. I'd also loved them to split up the big titles and give us an IC Main Event the first night and a Heavyweight Championship Main Event the 2nd night, so you let Naito win one and lose one to split the titles again.

It doesn't have the sexiness of last year, but tbh I think it out delivers it.

 

ELP is one of my favorites. Def my favorite JR. He and Hiromu are going to put on a show. And then Hiromu vs Ishimori is going to be incredible like it always is.

 

Dangerous Tekkers vs GOD- It's not going to be my type of match I know that now, and my expectations are always low for GOD

 

Okada vs Ospreay- 2 of the best in the world. They def held back in the G1, this is probably the match of both shows, maybe MOTY

 

Naito vs Ibushi in the dome is going to be incredible. I just hope they don't kill each other. This is going to be a violent match.

 

Shingo vs Cobb will be very hard hitting and fun. Cobb has done way better this go-around with NJPW. He's a perfect match for Shingo.

 

Sanada vs Evil- .... HUGE match for both of these guys. I loved some matches in their careers (Sanada's more so) and I know they have it in them, but they have way too many crap matches for my liking. I hope SANADA remains aggressive, and I hope Evil moves on from his crap.

 

Jay White is my favorite wrestler going, I think he and Ibushi will have an incredible match with Ibushi winning.

 

Just give me a Tom Ishii match. He deserves it.

Omega and Good Brothers vs Swann and MCMG at Hard to Kill. Thinking it'd be pretty funny swerve if the actual new Horsemen is lead by Omega

So I have been watching Impact, but for real there is so very little I am interested in. The North is mired in creative hell right now it seems. Moose seems to be an afterthought despite being one of their stronger all around players. Chris Bey seems to have no clear narrative direction. Deonna does not need a henchwomen, cheapens her IMO. 

 

Kenny's stuff is solid, and the potential still intrigues me. They need to make big moves soon or I am gonna stop tanning in and just watch Kenny's clips on youtube.

Seemed like tonight was more interesting from what I've read. The ending was definitely pretty great, imo. I just think Swann sucks mostly.

anyone down to try (i know it usually falls apart) another wrestling draft/weekly show type thing. was thinking draft... have a month to post 4 weekly shows. so post 4 shows all at once at the end of the month. every second month there's a PPV in addition to the 4 shows. and then we can post in here to have guys vote on who had the best PPV cycle maybe? weekly write-ups not too big. just booking matches and giving a gist of what's going on in promos/etc., not a complete verbatim script. active wrestlers/personnel only that are signed to a promotion or are free agents that are obviously still in the game

I agree. How dumb. This is when they should put their best foot forward to keep the new eyes. Not a time for a C level show. 
 

I’m also finding it hilarious that AEW beat RAW last week and is very competitive with them 🤣🤣🤣

Glad Im not alone on that one.

Their tag division wrestlers combined for the worst performances Ive seen in the ring out of AEW. Bad thing is they did it all without the aid of the Young Bucks.

Will give them credit though. Dude won his tag match and then started to recite nursery rhymes when he couldnt lace Lanny Poffo's boots. New topper for stupidest thing Ive seen in wrestling. Move over Viagra On A Poll Match. Theres a new champ.

why they wanna give spotlight to Top Flight and the other corny overplayed rap group is crazy to me... wish companies realized putting young gymnasts that can't sell sincerity or talk on the mic 100% obviously isn't the move

was just a wasted two hours, which usually isn't the case. 

hangman/dark order v. PP/hardy... like that they continued the cowboy day **** from BTE on to the start of the match and like the little side story there in general. the matt hardy/PP thing i've thought needed to end since it started. isaiah kassidy kills private party, i like quen, but kassidy in-ring mannerisms and promo **** are awful imo. so the point of this match was for hardy to keep doing his big ego matt thing i guess and silver/reynolds to fail hangman i guess. i like the dark order/hangman thing so i'm not mad at continuing it out even though it's low stakes, because it's obviously just keeping page busy and probably setting up a brodie/page thing once brodie returns, which will be cool. i kinda wish page could've carried them to a win to more play into the DO minions want the OP cowboy and start to admire him and then brodie returns and doesn't like that they're gushing over him. the PP/hardy thing just absolutely doesn't move the needle. it's whatever though, this was fine i guess...

cody v. angelico... if you're gonna do this, it's a 2 minute squash match... not another back n forth war, where cody almost loses multiple times. just a waste of time match imo. 

sting coming out and just staring and then going back in the tunnel... give us somethingggg man. advertise sting on dynamite and have the dude do nothing. third week on the show and we know he probably likes darby and has something with cody. let's start doing something with it... at least get the ****in wheels churning and progress the story an inch. my roommate is like it's slowburn storytelling and yeah obviously... but burn something. sting's debut was great. his promo last week left a lot to be desired imo and didn't like what happened this week. i understand liking how it's playing out though, it's just personally not how i wanted this sting thing to play out this week and it felt like an appearance just for an appearance. nothing was added.

kingston killed it on the mic as always. i liked how this played out, but why tf is lance archer involved? it's death triangle vs. kingston and B&B... 

inner circle v. everyone... like the MJF booking... top flight getting shine i hate. this was whatever, added a very very little something to MJF kinda taking advantage of IC's hard work, but now we have to stomach a top flight thing with jericho and MJF. which would be fine if it was a squash, but it obviously won't be. 

scu v. acclaimed... not it. the acclaimed are bland and immediately getting pushed... wish they weren't in the company 

women's match was whatever... ivelisse and diamente should be winning that **** tho imo not a random tag of deeb and swole.

omega v. janela... i liked this a lot. exactly what it should've been imo. callis kills it, he's absolute gold. janela gets a couple fun spots, but kenny dominates the whole match while callis does his thing. great. i like pac coming out and getting fenix the title shot to kinda re-establish the bond of that group and make it seem more cohesive again. so the last 20 minutes of the show i thought was good and typical of what AEW has been over the past couple months.

 

probably just a random bad show, but damn it's pretty disappointing timing because they were getting hot and more momentum than they've had in a while and that show might've killed some of that imo

 You nailed it perfect for me @FinneasGage Only difference is I dont think Janela should have a job. But that wasnt a bad overall segment like you touched on.

Top Flight, Acclaimed and some of these other teams. I cant tell them apart. Everything they do is the same. Butcher & Blade or FTR should have had a match to break it up from everything being such. Or even Jurassic Express. They need teams with different styles tossed in the mix and pushed. Build a team off Spears. Like with Sydal or someone to get airtime. 

Kingston and that segment was the bright spot of the show. A feud that actually carried the look and feel that they hate each other. Fenix got in his little stupid "catch me" spot. But it didnt ruin any of the flow cause all else was good enough to mask it.

I agree Dynamite was bad this week. However, Raw was by far the worst show and I am including Impact in that assessment. NXT was the best show, some great matches on there and some actual long term storytelling starting to form. My only complaint is that Rhea and Toni should have had MUCH more build to a PPV level match.

I like the acclaimed. Bowen is great in ring and I think Caster is pretty good on the mic and I'll take character work over top flight any day of the week. I dont get the top flight love either. 

If you cant tell acclaimed and top flight apart tho you might be blind, they are nothing alike. 

Agreed, pretty lame show for me outside of the opener, the main event and i liked acclaimed/scu. I like angelico a whole lot but i dont think that match did anything for him or cody.

As you might know I over use food analogies. 

Sometimes when I've cooked a big breakfast and know I'm making a special dinner I just throw a sandwich together with whatever I can find in the fridge not expecting too much.

This episode was that sandwich.
