With that said, I do think we are in a pretty good spot and don’t need to trade up assets like that unless it’s minimal.

I doubt we trade assets for anyone. We are in a good spot sitting at pick #10. I'm sure we at least like 2 of the OT's enough to take at #10. At least 1 will be there. And if not, it means Derrick Brown or some other star fell to us.

I'd rather trade down than trade up. But I doubt we do either.

If we get any player that's not an OT at #10, that player had better be named "Isaiah Simmons", and even then I'll be irritated at our OL situation.

Man I was thinking about it last night

I’d trade the 3rd from the Duke trade to jump to 8 to secure Simmons

I know we need Oline but if Simmons is the potential HOF weapon on defense scouts think he is I’d do it.

we can find Oline in the 2nd and 3rd still and you can fill ever spots with FA and trades

your not going to find a playmaker like Simmons outside the draft. So to me you go get him if it doesn’t cost too much. I don’t think it’d cost more than the third from Duke to go from 10 to 8

Pick 8 is worth 1400

Pick 10 is worth 1300

If you only go by the chart, we could trade our 4th this year (70 points) and next year's 4th to move up 2 spots.

It also works out to trade our Duke pick and get back their early 5th this year, if we don't want to lose out on pick quantity.

Edit: Never mind. They don't have a 5th.

Maybe they'd take our fourth and a fifth next year--lines up about right.

Yeah, I looked to see if we could do some type of swap, but that didn't fit for that reason. Neither of us has a 5th, so it would have to include a player or a future pick.

Yeah all the above is good with me

but I think I’m on the Simmons bandwagon.

one of the big questions with that though is

could Mack Wilson play mike full time?

because if we let Joe walk that’s most likely going to be a third round comp pick in 2021. I think in the analytics mindset that could play a big factor. You make out on your ROI from a 4th rounder to a third. And then if you have to trade a pick you know you get one back in 2021 unless we sign a major FA

Simmons is one of my 4-5 best players in the draft (Non QB) with Young, Okudah, Brown, and Jeudy. That said, with our glaring holes at OT, if we trade up for him, I'd be disappointed. If he falls to us and we draft him, then so be it, but I think he's taken in the Top 5-7 picks personally.

I think that Wilson is a full time WLB. He's a great sideline to sideline guy and excels in pass coverage, but gets thumped at the point of attack and struggles to take on blockers. He MAY develop into one eventually, but right now, he's not close IMO.

If we let Schobert walk I may explode.

That would be glorious. Except I don't see a chance in hell that Derrick Brown falls to #10. Hell, I think Detroit takes him at #3 if they're smart. You cannot run inside on a Derrick Brown-led defense. And the dude has pass rush ability...he's not just a run stuffer. I was a big Ed Oliver guy last year until I watched more Derrick Brown. He became my top DT in what was a loaded class.

And then this season happened and he was even better. Derrick Brown is a game wrecker and would single-handedly shut down power run schemes. He's that kind of beast in my opinion.

@candyman Kinlaw reminds me of Chris Jones. He's lackadaisical too often, but the raw talent is eye-opening. He's also trending upwards in terms of literally every trait. He continues to get better and has the length, size, and explosion necessary to be the next great pass rushing DT. But I would not take him over any 4 of the OT's.

I agree. We need a slot WR or a #2 to push Landry to the slot.

The 2nd round looks pretty bleh to me anyways. I want Tyler Biadasz to be our RG. If he's not there or deemed not a fit for our ZBS, then we should look to add a pass rusher or a WR.

I'd love him in round two, but I kind of doubt he'll be available.
