I'm pessimistic here. Better defense will win this game. That'd be the one with 2 pass rushers and Vic Fangio coaching them.

20-13 Broncos.

you pessimistic? nah, never...

I hope the Raiders stick with the formula from our last game vs Denver and just pound the rock. Slow down that pass rush and wear em out with our huge OL and stable of backs. I need 200+ rush yards this week.

24-17 Raiders

WTF  Denver sucks

Denvers defense is still very good, especially their pass rush and pass rush specialist coach against our unproven offensive line.

Vegas and the Media both have Oakland/Denver as pretty even teams this year, finishing in at the 5-7 win range.

This is close to a 50-50 game in my honest opinion. I really have no idea who will win since it’s Week 1 and we haven’t seen anything yet. But I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Denver won, not 1%.

I’ll make an official prediction before the game but I’m really torn.

Touché.... but not much to be excited about since 2002 with this team. Need to show me something. If you can't get after the QB in the league, you are doomed. They are relying on Key and the DTs to push the pocket. And a rookie #4 overall pick who showed so little pass rush ability in the preseason, they were moving him inside.

30 - 17 Raiders.

3 Carlson FG's

Jacobs hit 150 total yards and gets 1 rushing and 1 receiving

AB goes over 100 yards and with a big play TD.

Our Defense gets 5 sacks and 2 Turnovers.

Gives pessimistic Raider Fans a wake up call.

If this happens against a top 5 defense, I will be a huge believer.

Raiders 20-17

Heavy dose of Jacobs rushing and receiving 150 combined and AB/Williams getting balls once Denver D adjusts to Jacobs. Then Richard will get a series before halftime and catch Denver off balance.

Vic Fangio is one of the best pass rushing strategist in the NFL. And has an elite and becoming elite pass rusher(s).

Tom Cable has had the 23rd or worse Pass Protection (usually 28th or worse) in his nearly 15 year NFL career.

Vic Fangio vs Tom Cable. Mismatch of the week.

Are these the only two factors of the game? Of course not. But I’d say it’s the key matchup.

If we can pound Jacobs at Denvers weak spots, stay turnover free, and force Flacco into some mistakes then we absolutely can win this game. Denvers offense is nothing special. Probably a Bottom 5-7 Offense in the NFL. However, their offense is better than our defense.

Looking from a 1000% neutral perspective and taking my fanhood out of it, I say 22-20 Denver wins a sloppy game between two rough teams.

Before anyone gets sensitive... I’ll be rooting for Oakland like a crazed person, I’ll be rooting for Derek Carr, rooting for Antonio Brown, rooting for Josh Jacobs, yelling as Jon Gruden yells, and hoping like heck I am wrong as we go 1-0. I want the Raiders to win 100000000% more than my prediction. Obviously. But I can’t pick the Raiders every time, and I just think Denver has a better chance here, even if it’s slim. I say Denver 53-54% chance of winning.

Let’s go Raiders, prove me wrong!!!!

we should win this one... last home opener in Oakland

DBS will be key in this one, they need to lock down Denvers average wideouts and tight end on one on ones so we can blitz for pressure and focus on stopping their run game. They are going want to get Lindsey and Freeman going in this one. While Denver defense is improving we can score 24-28 with our talent on offense. Going be key to block the edges and watch out for Chubb and Von Miller. Pound the rock and get AB going!
