CrashMan510
Gruden established that he was rebuilding when he got rid of mack(stupid) and cooper(understandable). Then he trades for AB(not to mention picking up incognito and Burfict); pretty much contradicting the rebuild thing and putting some psychos in the middle of a franchise who needs to build a culture. Ab then goes full psycho to get released, and through all of his b.s Gruden pretty much gives him a pass. How does any of this help build a culture and how does he have any of the players respect? not to mention trading a 3rd for martavious Lol this has been a dumpster fire that detroit, cincinnati, and cleveland would be proud of
Nabbs4u
Funny how Mayock and Gruden were praised for Fleecing the Steelers in the Trade but called idiots afterwards because AB decided to go full Stupid? Like it or not, it was a good trade at that time!!! Just "NO ONE" not even the most Anti-AB fan on the planet could of foreseen what occured in a 4 month span. Anyone pretending they actually saw this coming is full if ...! Edited September 9, 2019 by Nabbs4u

No, it wasn't. 59 minutes ago, Nabbs4u said: Just one NO ONE not even the most Anti-AB fan on the planet could of foreseen what occured in a 4 month span. Anyone pretending they actually saw this coming is full if ...! Regardless of the exact circumstances, plenty of people said that bringing in AB was a bad idea for the Raiders. Plenty of people said that he was a headcase and the fact that Steelers (a very stable organization) got rid of him was a red flag. Plenty of people said he it would be even worse for a team like the Raiders. Brown's prior diva behavior was really, really bad before he was traded. I don't know why your acting like this trade not working out fro the Raiders wasn't predictable. It was a lot more predictable than a lot of other stuff we make predictions on. It certainly wasn't unforeseeable to anyone who follows the team/division. If the Raiders move on from him with just the lost draft capital and no money lost this early, then it's not even the worst outcome we could have seen coming. This is far better than quitting on the team and/or being a distraction in the middle of the season. Literally the last game he was supposed to play, a MUST win to keep the Steelers playoff hopes alive, he was benched because he skipped practices leading up to it and fought with teammates. This isn't a new plot twist. Edited September 8, 2019 by wackywabbit

The article doesn't mention the secret live streaming of Tomlin's post-playoff game speech in the locker room, talking about their next opponent. Sound familiar? ...But yea, let's act like Brown behaving the way he does is something came out of nowhere and that no one could have seen coming. He flipped the roster with like 20-25 new guys (I forget the exact number) almost immediately after we traded for him. He focused mostly on the offense. But he preferred vets. A LOT. Then he continued to build the roster that way his entire tenure. He always preferred vets. It seems like he hasn't changed much in 15 years. Mayock seems to be the reasonable one between the two. But Gruden is the guy with 10 years $100M. He's in charge.
raidersedge
When I hear they aren't going in any direction. I just laugh. The direction Gruden and Mayock are going is to see if Carr can bounce back and be the long term answer at QB. That's the plan. That's why you trade for AB, sign Tyrell Williams, sign Trent Brown, draft Josh Jacobs. They clearly had a plan and it was to see if they can get that 2016 magic out of Derek Carr again.

It’d literally be like winning the Super Bowl after everything that has transpired. You've had moral victory - you got rid of that cancer who was ruining your off-season and holding your GM/coach/QB in contempt. You all (correctly) wanted rid of him, now you have and can move on with the season.

SBLIII
He has 2 more seasons to prove his worth to Raidernation. This year and next. If they bomb this year, they'll draft a QB next year and if they suck in both years, fans will turn on him.

Malik
Gruden doesn't build anything. He mortgages the future by leaning on a bunch of old guys in order to attempt to win quick. That last Raiders offense was almost completely a bunch of players 32 and older.
