Not really, tbh I would rather have an healthy Dakota Dozier, Brett Jones, or Dru Samia taking the start and I really don’t think we would be any worse off. Only positive is, most of us and Vikings Twitter did think Elflien looked better than his PFF grade last week and better than he did all of last year. Still not great. All us Vikings fans know Clark is a top 5-10 interior lineman. Personally I say top 5, so damn good. Will be a struggle.

He’d be a candidate to return later in the season. Were his Viking Career stats ahead of Treadwell's? Rimshot

Shanedorf
vikes know all about mugging the A Gap, but they aren't used to seeing Kenny Clark standing in there The young OL for minny will be tested... From Ben Fennell at The Athletic Pettine used a barrage of defenders in mug-front alignments throughout the game, and it gave the Bears line and Trubisky issues. The Bears weren’t able to properly assess the pressure on several plays, leading to blitzers with clear paths to the QB. https://cdn.theathletic.com/app/uploads/2019/09/08175047/2-DOUBLE-A.mp4? These fronts often present a heavy dose of post-snap movement and stress post-snap processing from opposing QBs. The pressure may look like it’s coming from one direction, only to be brought from the other side. This can confuse QBs that are preparing to throw quickly to blitz beating outlets only for the look to change drastically after the snap. Shanedorf
"The Vikings announced that they have promoted cornerback Nate Meadors from the practice squad. The move comes after Mackensie Alexander missed practice on Wednesday with an elbow injury. Cornerback Mike Hughes was limited in practice after missing the opener as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL. Meadors was signed this offseason after going undrafted out of UCLA. He returned an interception for a touchdown in Minnesota’s preseason opener, but neither that nor his other work this summer was enough to land him a spot on the opening roster." Norse65
Holding will be called more from now on. The NFL is probably getting tired of being criticized about them. In the super slow mo they use nowadays fans can see all the holding that goes on. Either call it or just let them hold. It’s hard enough to play defense in these pass crazy times. Pretty sure Alexander dislocated his elbow, don't think one just comes back after a week from that. Hughes may play, but he hasn't played football in a year, I'm not overly concerned, he'll be a good one in the long run but like any player he'll struggle on the way back.

Probably won’t be playing but Meaders probably won’t play. Most of the expectations will be Kearse moving to the slot, who has been playing outstanding since the end of last year, but still not touching Alexander’s level who actually ended last year as probably our best cornerback and was starting to get worked into the outside spot a bit more all offseason. I thought Doctson made a nice compliment WR to Thielen and Diggs and probably would have seen some open territory as a consequence of their presence. Too bad he's hurt but wont miss him on Sunday.
