Offense
This week we go against an OKC that has added some pieces to help pull the whole thing together. They'll be a challenge, but we think the way we run our offense will actually help us on both sides of the ball. Here are a few of the things we want to really key in on with our offense.
Shotgun spread- As we've been doing lately, we're going to be a more RPO heavy offense this week and we'll do it out a spread offense. Lately we've been using lots of bunches and trips sets to get our WR's open, but this week we want to spread the defense out. This allows us to still attack the OKC defense with the run, but also doesn't allow OKC to group defenders together to run too many exotic looks on D to try to confuse Jackson. Kupp will operate out of the slot to work all over the middle of the field with Hopkins and Sutton working the outsides.

Motion for the run/pass game- This week we'll use lots of motion for a few reasons. 1) It can help a QB identify coverages, which will be key for Jackson 2) We can use it as misdirection in the run game with some reverses and trick plays 3) It's helpful in being able to slide protection over to help slow down Von Miller, which is big in this game.

Run to set up the pass- With our offense strength being the run game, we know OKC will key on it. So to be successful in the long run we need to use PA passing and throwing out of the RPO to burn defenses who sell out to stop the run. Tre White is fantastic and Marcus Peters makes splash plays but we have to challenge these guys. Peters is especially known for overplaying things from time to time so no matter who he is on (we trust our top 3 WR's to handle anything) we will look to capitalize big on some PA passes in this game. Not just PA, but just the OKC selling out to stop the run in general.

Protect Lamar- As in the past couple weeks against a good pass rush, we'll help our LT as much as possible with our TE chipping and our RB's staying in to protect.  We plan to incorporate lots of screens, as well as quick passes to Engram after chipping OKC's pass rushers on Bolles' side to slow down the fighting Whicker's.

Defense (Cover 2 press man base)
OKC brings an offense with lots and lots of receiving weapons. Just in the nick of time we're starting to get our CB's healthy and we feel like we can match up really well with just about anyone. We think we have the pieces to slow down this offense and here are the keys for us.

Cover 2 press- This will be our base defense. Should OKC go 4 wide, Leonard will stay in the game and an extra corner comes in for Smith. We are going cover 2 simply because with so many receiving options for OKC, we want our safeties to be in position to make a play should a WR beat our press. Our man matchups in 4 wide will be as follows:
Thielen - Bouye
Woods - Ward
Robinson - Williams
Gallup - Coleman
Mixon - Leonard

In 3 Wide sets when our two LB's are in the game, Jaylon Smith will take TE responsibilities and Leonard will take Mixon. Taking Mixon allows Leonard to use a delayed blitz should Mixon stay in the block, same can be said for Jaylon Smith and the TE.

Switch up coverage looks on Stafford- With the cover 2 press being our base, we don't want Stafford to get comfortable with what he sees. We want to throw some zone into the equation too, but with our guys lining up over their assignments initially to appear as though we're in our base. We can throw some cover 6 at Stafford, as well as a press bail cover 3 which can mimic a standard press man look and allow Stafford to think he's seeing something he really isn't. We hope this gets us some mistakes made.

Use slants and twists- With so much beef in our interior and overall strong run play, we don't want to get too predictable and let the offense just key in on stopping our edge players. So throughout the game we'll utilize line slants and twists to change where our attack is coming from. Ngakoue/Crosby/Sweat/Lawson will be rotated in to keep each guy fresh. Solomon Thomas and Poona Ford are athletic DT's that will rotate in with our Large Marge starters to help keep everyone fresh and have our line movement staying explosive.
