I like FF a lot and Shepherd made a bunch of splash plays.  Probably more than Leo did in a single game lol.

Which again makes the Q pick really dumb.

I wonder is Douglas looks to move him immediately. We literally dont need him and hes been the worst DL getting snaps that we have if we are being honest. Douglas is going to need picks, hes going to have to get really creative especially if he decides to keep Adams.

Can we transition tag Robby and trade him? Or tender him? Does anyone know if he is RFA or UFA?

To be fair, Q produces the least because he's getting double or triple teamed most times.

He's also really young, so he's still growing strength-wise. If we can get some outside pressure, then it will open up more plays for Q to accumulate sacks. For now, it's the inside opening up plays for guys like Jenkins and Adams.

My biggest issue with Q right now is that he doesn't "look" the part.

He's got this skinny fat thing going on and simply doesn't fit the mold of a stud DT.  As a result he's being pushed around by bigger offensive lineman at the LOS and relying on his elite athleticism to make a splash play now and again, albeit seamlessly disappearing for stretches. He's gotta get stronger and prioritize his diet this offseason. If he can come back looking more like Aaron Donald and less like a chubby high schooler he should wreck havoc.

Shepherd always had it in him, but he looks like a totally different player this year. He's leaner, meaner, and quicker than he was all last season and it's not even close.

Fatukasi is an example of a player who has been developed well. Good tackle coaching in both regimes. He's cleaned up his technique substantially since college and it has allowed him to really let his unreal strength/agility for a man his size take over.

While I can now admit that Q over Allen is looking like a mistake, it's way too early. Allen has produced and no one can take that away from him, but have to give Quinnen a chance. The high ankle sprain did not do him favors, and we have to keep in mind that he's only 21 and has one full year of starting experience. Shep is 26 already, and Fatukasi is 24/a different kind of player. Allen has the benefit of being utilized as a pass rush specialist on a defensive line that also has two elite pass rushers in Calias Campbell and Yannick Ngakou; Quinnen is the most talented player on his DL and plays a full slate of snaps. Not jumping to any conclusions just yet.

Ngakou is who I want if he hits the market.

Draft bias? Loved him coming out of college but I think he's still riding that hype train. Will most likely set a career high in sacks this year and be looking to cash in because of it, honestly he's someone I'd prefer to avoid. Not enough consistent production to match the contract he'll be looking for.

Went back and watched Bless Austin's post draft interview to remind myself why I instantly became a fan of the pick despite having no idea who he was:

“You can quote me on this: I have zero doubts in my mind that I will be the player that I was and I’ll be even better than I was. When I’m healthy, without a doubt I feel like I’m the best corner in this draft to be honest. Size, speed, physicality, knowledge of the game, when I get on the field I’m going to let people know I’m back. I know it’s a different level, with bigger, stronger and faster players, but I’m going to learn from the coaches, soak up all the coaching I can, and when my number is called I’m going to make things happen whether it’s special teams, defense or wherever they need me.’’

Giants post game interview: "I hold myself to a high standard and don't like leaving plays out there. I've got to go to work. I'm no where near what I could be so I've got to keep working so I can fulfill my potential."

He's got the confidence/swagger you need from a CB while also coming off level headed. Outside of Sam, he's the guy I'll be watching/rooting for most over the next seven games.

He'll be franchised

He won't be franchised and I like him too.

I like Bud Dupree even more, and unless they make major changes the Steelers won't have the resources to re-sign him.

They're projected to have under $10 million in cap space. As we know that can always be manipulated, however, there are many primary factors that will prevent them from signing Dupree in this case: (1) they already have a lot of money tied up in long-term contracts on defense, (2) they have 4 RFAs worthy of roster spots which tends to eat up around $8-10 million in cap space; (3) they need to prepare to sign TJ Watt (will be one of the highest paid defenders in the NFL) and JuJu to big-time contracts next year; (4) in total, they have 12 starters due for FA this season or next; and (5) the Steelers lead the league converted so many base salaries to prorated bonuses and am not sure they have any more room to "kick the can down the road"... Given the enumerated, re-signing/tagging Dupree would be a major luxury for the Steelers that they can't possibly make absent a major home-town discount and a number of pay-cuts/starters being released.

While I don’t disagree and have been defending him a lot, we argued this about Leo for years till we were blue in the face. I am most disappointed with his visible lack of motor on most plays. Not giving up on him, I just really think we need to move one of these guys to upgrade all our other deficiencies. I loved Q coming out so I’m not going to hide from the fact that I thought he was second to only Bosa on my list but we def need more from him.

The thing about Leo is that he had Sheldon and Leo to work with, and neither could open up lanes for the others. Q could be our best lineman right now and it's just not showing on the stat sheet because Foley, Nate, and Jenkins are getting the 1v1s while Q gets 2+ blockers. This is mostly a guess, because I only looked for Q a handful of times and in those times he was being doubled and tripled.
