If the player wasn't defenseless and/or it's clear the player wasn't intentionally going for such a hit, then no ejection (at least on the first one), though still allow it to be a penalty if they want to call it that way. I do agree with it. Some are malicious, others are not it needs to be about a defenseless player. Lawrence, wasnt, dude was preparing for a hit. if a player cant protect themselves, then flag it
NateDawg
They gotta get this officials “expert” off the broadcast every week though. He’s wrong 50% of the time. If he and the officials on the field/doing replay can’t agree, I don’t need his opinion leading up to the replay announcement.

Oregon Ducks
The targeting rule has definitely made the college game better. Yeah, it sucks sometimes but I think its had a very positive outcome.
burlow
Honestly the blind side block is worse to me than a targeting call, I have seen a couple bad calls for targeting but the ticky tackyness of blindside is worse. Targeting is clear and that was targeting, keep the ejection - have to maintain player safety. It is clear, it is cut and dry.
Pats#1
I honestly thought it looked like the LB lowered his head because the receiver was falling down and it was going to be helmet to helmet and he was trying to avoid it. see it all the time in the pros
