scar988
IDK if this is allowed, but I've gotten the link to the NFLPA fact sheet for the changes in the new CBA located here: https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/NFLPA/Agents/Proposal Fact Sheet_2 20 20.pdf?_cldee=Z3JlZ2xpbnRvbnVrQHlhaG9vLmNvbQ%3d%3d&recipientid=contact-82953b917724e711812de0071b66aed1-f074297253354257a182013a9d31ea73&esid=571dccde-3454-ea11-a812-000d3a1b1d16 The Full CBA has been released for those of us who want to go through it: https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/NFLPA/CBA2020/NFL-NFLPA_CBA_March_5_2020.pdf Edited March 5, 2020 by scar988
MWil23
The fact that vision coverage wasn't included/proposed until now is laughable.
Hukos
The ideal scenario for the players: - Higher minimum contracts for all positions - Better healthcare/retirement packages - Better money split - More guaranteed contracts (you could start at year 1 being fully guaranteed and go on from there) - Complete elimination of the franchise and transition tag. - Completely revamped drugtesting policy (ie. no more weed bans) - Reducing the power the Commissioner has - Changing the hard cap to a soft cap with a tax (This would give the players more money to play with, I don't necessarily agree with this for competitive reasons, but the players as a whole should absolutely want this) I wouldn't expect to get all of these, and getting some of them is probably going to require some concessions (ie expanded playoff/week structure). The devil is really in the details, what has to be given up to get what exactly.

dll2000
Bonus payment of 1/17 of his paragraph 5 salary [up to $250K] to any player whose contract runs through a season when 17 games is played This will not go over well. Why cap it they will say? Why not just add 1/17?
WindyCity
If you make less than 4.5 million/season you are going to vote yes. It is a really good deal for the 75% of guys who do not make generational wealth.

This section kind of stood out: Quote Active Players • Life Insurance Not "better life insurance". Just "life insurance". Did...NFL players not already have that?

Who is negotiating this?!?!

I don't expect it to ever happen, but it's something the players should want, it increases their leverage when it comes to contract years.

sparky151
If the league is getting a 17th game, they should offer the following to start with: Replace last preseason game Either start an additional week earlier or extend season a week later to add 2nd bye week for all teams. All players on roster eligible to play each week Those cost the league nothing. Now add a couple of extra roster spots and a couple of PS spots with no experience maximum (as proposed in new CBA) Allow unlimited returns from IR (but still with the 8 week minimum) Increase pay proportionately, ie an extra 1/16th for existing contracts. Increase playoff pay from fixed amounts to 125%, 150%, 175%, 200% of regular game pay for wildcard, divisional, conference, and Super Bowl rounds Those seem like fairly bare minimum things to ask for in exchange for the extra game.

I would imagine life insurance policy premium would run a bit higher for a professional athlete in a contact sport vs a teacher.
