It's ironic that the Chargers finally dropped Benjamin after all this time.  I mean, all Benjamin was good for was dropping passes at key moments.   Addition by subtraction.

He was okay in 2016. And we would never have beaten the Chiefs in 2018 without his clutch two catches on that last drive. But guy was a big disappointment to say the least.

The prime time PIT comeback, he showed up.   But so many dropped balls at key times.  The flip side to the road W - he catches those 2 TD's & doesn't muff the punt at his 5 Week 1 at home vs. KC, Chargers win that one going away, instead of losing by 10.    The mistakes more than outweighed the occasional PR / deep ball he'd hang on to.   With Mike Williams in the fold, he's redundant in a huge way, better to have a young guy they can develop and add to their big 3 receivers downfield (Henry being the 3rd - Ekeler is a huge threat, too, but a 3rd WR who can actually be counted on would make that O lethal, assuming GM addresses the OL).

You say clutch. I say that's what pro ball players are supposed to do when the ball hits them in the hands. It says volumes about his play that anytime he actually hung onto the ball we considered it a great play by Benji.

They were both impressive catches done from the slot (a position that he never played before) but also highlighted how extremely disappointing he was for us. The guy had Tyreek Hill potential when he was with the Browns. Of course he was an abysmal waste of space when he joins us.

Enormous exaggeration lol. But yeah, he was a playmaker at times.
