Chargers trade LT Okung to Panthers for G Trai Turner

Not buying this as a precursor to them taking an OT. I just don't understand a scenario where the Chargers don't take a QB round 1, or at least try to move up for one... no more Rivers, new stadium, tickets need to be sold... maybe they see Tyrod as a capable starter in the near-term but they have to get a QB. Maybe they take Hurts in round 2? That would be something and the above scenario laid out by Ben takes place? Still doesn't seem like the answer to me...

Also take it for what it's worth, but my cousin works with a lot of agents who are projecting Andrus Peat to the Chargers for big money. Not sure if he would be a LT or LG, but it would appear that adding him would be another step towards rebuilding their line with Pipkins (T/G), Pouncey (C), and Turner (RG) likely all occupying starting spots.

Cool Rivers dies behind this line but now that he’s gone we finally invest in it. Watch us commit to having an actual running game that isn't the same worn out stretch plays then marvel at how a new QB has “Success.” What a finger to the MVP of keeping the planet populated.

We invested heavily in the OL under TT. Unfortunately the success rate has been abysmal to say the least. Which probably means that Turner will suck with us as well. Only short term success have been Okung, Pouncey, Slauson, and Dunlap. And those guys all eventually got injured.

They'll never sell enough tickets.

The sale of the tickets has never been an issue.  It's those tickets sold translating into actual butts in seats.  They aren't selling PSL's to the desired amount and that's a problem, but that's got a lot to do with the fact that Dean sold his soul and a glut of tickets to resale agencies who indiscriminately sold what they could to whoever they could (away fans, home fans, and that failing... Groupon, etc.).  It was a god awful business model implemented by a clueless businessman who didn't have the liquidity to "make the weight" in the fight he was climbing into the ring for.
