SteelKing728
I'll take it! He was a top 3 safety last season.

minutemancl
Damn. Was hoping he'd hit the open market. Safety market is still pretty sizable, but it took a big hit with this and McCourty signing.
VikeManDan
3rd time we've used the franchise tag in team history.

joru1000
Great. He's very quietly one of the best DBs in the league.

Harris wanted to be paid like a top safety (as he deserved, after this season), Vikings (at the moment) didn't want to give him the long-term deal (with big money) after 1-2 seasons of great success (while being 29), so the tag option, was always the most likely option. Uncle Buck
I'm guessing the talks in the front office went something like this: Spielman: "Zim, I've made the decision to extend Kirk to free up some extra cap space." Zimmer: "Well, if we're putting that much into the offensive side of the ball, I want to keep Anthony Harris for my defense!"
Canuck
Darn... Smith and Harris is pretty OP as a safety duo. Was hoping Harris would leave
Ozzy
Offered him a 1 year $11.441 million franchise tag, similar to what Simmons on Denver was offered. He could easily decline it though and hit the market. All these good players were offered a franchise tag though so really it is kind of a kick in the face, not to mention Dak as well. And how is Derrick Henry's franchise tag amount less than Leonard Williams I have no clue. MAR 16 2020 Chris Jones, DE Offered a 1 year $16.126 million franchise tag by Kansas City (KC) MAR 16 2020 Shaquil Barrett, OLB Offered a 1 year $15.828 million franchise tag by Tampa Bay (TB) MAR 16 2020 Leonard Williams, DE Offered a 1 year $16.126 million franchise tag by New York (NYG) MAR 16 2020 Bud Dupree, OLB Offered a 1 year $15.828 million franchise tag by Pittsburgh (PIT) MAR 16 2020 A.J. Green, WR Offered a 1 year $17.865 million franchise tag by Cincinnati (CIN) MAR 16 2020 Derrick Henry, RB Offered a 1 year $10.278 million franchise tag by Tennessee (TEN) MAR 16 2020 Joe Thuney, G Offered a 1 year $14.781 million franchise tag by New England (NE)

How does he decline it and it not cost another team 1 or 2 first round picks?
