Career

Love, burrow, tua, herbert.

Agreed. We’ve seen this movie before with the Packers. When was the last time they had legitimately bad QB play? A QB with some of the best tools sits behind Aaron Rodgers until he’s ready? A franchise that historically has put itself into a position to have a lot of success? Both of their last two franchise QBs have rings.

Burrow will have serious weapons, but plays in an incredibly competitive division that’s historically known for its defense; Steelers and Ravens both look positioned to have two top 10 defenses once again. Could be tough for a rookie to thrive with.

My only change would be Herbert over Tua, his injury history is too extensive in soft tissue injuries that i don’t trust him to last. Whereas Herbert should last considering his frame.

Tua (Future All-Pro/Multiple Pro-Bowls)

Burrow (A few Pro-Bowls/Above Average Starter)

Herbert (Above Average Starter)

Love (Average Starter)

Would be my guess but who knows. I do think Herbert is going to be better than most people think, and I don't think Burrow reaches that All-Pro echelon like most people think.

Burrow (Few Pro Bowls/Long time starter; Eli Manning like career but more Pro Bowls)

Herbert (Average Starter for first few years of career but will end up backup like Matt Hasselbeck )

Tua (Average Starter; Cam Newton like  career but injured plague career... probably won't play more than 10 years)

Love (He reminds me of Kaepernick but will play longer than Kaepernick.  Decent backup)

Burrow isn't the perfect thrower, but has excellent awareness in the pocket, and he could end up looking really smart in the NFL really early.  But, he's so unproven right now, so we'll have to see.

Herbert is impressive for his size.  He's a big dude at 6'6", 230 lbs,  but can really move around the backfield.  QBs his size tend to stick to the pocket due to not being able to run, but this guy can.  I think he can be a potential starter for the Chargers.

Forget Tua.  I just don't think he's talented at all.  I haven't seen a QB underthrow or throw behind his targets more than he does in years.  Literally every other throw, his wideouts need to turn completely backwards just to catch his passes.  I honestly don't think he's going to last very long, and I would be surprised if he does.

And, Love is more likely to remain a backup than to take the starting job from Rodgers, but not because Rodgers isn't leaving.  A-Rod could very well be leaving Green Bay, and LaFleur will be looking for another franchise QB the second he gives Love the chance to start.  Love is comfortable in the pocket, but he had a really good offensive line at Utah State, so he's probably not going to become adjusted to not always having that kind of protection.

Based on ability and situation:

Love - by far the best situation. Gets to sit and learn and refine his craft.

Burrow - has the tools to succeed just about anywhere. I don't think he'll have team success in Cincinnati, but could see him having success if he goes elsewhere.

I think Tua and Herbert bust badly and find no success.
