Ok, Ok, maybe it's just me. But can anyone remember the last time the Browns won a feature (Sunday night or Monday night) game??

I'm pretty sure they didn't have Sunday night and Monday football when Jim Brown played 🏳️  <--- surrender

They’ve won their last 2 Thursday night games and they won a Monday night game last year.

This goes back to week 1 of course, but interesting nonetheless.

Most of Wentz's post 2017 career is self inflicted.

I am still rooting for him but he needs to grow up fast.

No way an NFL QB should be throwing picks up 17-0 on a team that can't move the ball.

The Eagles D finished the week 1st in yards and 1st in yards per play. Wentz let them down.

Yeah, that graphic makes the Wentz game look fairly alarming.

Remember the Jags-Eagles opener in 2014?

Foles is not as talented as Wentz but he learned fast in the 1st half that his line would not protect him properly.

He was sacked 5 times in that first half. (3 fumbles maybe?)

He made some adjustments (some Philly radio turds called it "running scared 😀") and he wound up with only 4 more sacks in the next 7 games worth of football

  • 6 games + the Jags 2nd half and the Texans first half.

He got hurt before the half in Houston and Sanchez came in and played like a dummy with 23 sacks.

6-2 became 10-6 and no playoffs.

Wentz needs to be more Foles and less Sanchez.

Not really. People are overreacting.

Wentz playing hero ball and holding onto the ball too long should happen less often, but Doug Pederson probably had his worst game as a play caller since joining the Eagles and did nothing to make the game easier on his QB.

That game/loss was just as much on Pederson as it was Wentz.

Doug did nothing of the sorts to help out his QB in a game. It was stupefying.

Some of the sacks were on Carson, but the OL and RBs definitely had their fair share of breakdowns in pass protection that led to sacks. I don't think the OL is as bad as people want to make it out to be after week 1. The two guys with a total of 3 NFL snaps they threw on the right side of the o-line actually did a solid job all things considered. The chemistry with the rookie WRs wasn't really there and neither was the chemistry with the OL or RBs on who should be blocking who.

And, I'll say it again. Doug was awful in this game. There is a lot of blame to be spread around for week 1. Wentz is the focal point as the QB and he's gonna take the majority share, but dude was off after he started getting hit and we didn't do anything to help him after that started happening. We kept running deeper routes. Didn't get him out of the pocket. Had no semblance of a run game. Washington just teed off and had a field day and credit to their defensive front and Del Rio for that.

Bleeding Green Nation is getting heavy on the Carson blame;

"One of the most frustrating aspects from Sunday’s game was watching his inability to put the ball in the right place. We all know that Wentz has never been the most accurate quarterback. But things were especially bad on Sunday.

The two interceptions obviously stuck out. In addition to those, Wentz simply left a number of plays on the field.

He throws behind Zach Ertz, he throws wide of Jackson and almost gets picked off, overthrows Reagor, He completes this quick throw to Dallas Goedert but the tight end has to pick it up off the ground instead of being led in stride to more easily get yards after the catch. (Wentz threw too high earlier on another quick throw to John Hightower, who had to leave his feet to make a catch for a negative two-yard reception.) He throws short/wide of Reagor despite having a clean pocket off play action , On the very next play, he sails this throw to Greg Ward, who runs a nice route to get open over the middle. For game context, this incompletion comes right before Wentz is sacked on third down and Jake Elliott misses a 53-yard field goal. Costly.

Accuracy was a big issue for Wentz in 2019 as well. Pro Football Focus identified it as the number one area where the Eagles’ starting quarterback needed to improve heading into 2020. Wentz finished in the top 10 in the NFL’s completion percentage above expectation metric (which measures a quarterback’s performance relative to the difficulty of their throws on an aggregate level) in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, he dropped all the way down to 23rd in that statistic, just behind Mitchell Trubisky.

They've hammered him! It's like a cowboys blog not an Eagle one
