The Tom Brady Thread

Teams will play harder when they know they have a chance, no question about that.  I’m sure the Bucs defense phoned it in a few times after the third or fourth Jameis pick in one of the many games.

But Bucs did have a legit D last year, they just couldn’t overcome 40 Jameis turnovers.  And their offense is certainly top tier.  Really the only question I had, and anybody should have had was whether or not Brady still had enough gas left in the tank at 43.

Yeah. Put it this way. The Denver D in 2015 had faith that Peyton would keep things at least honest even if he was diminished and they grinded like crazy. They were every bit as good the next two seasons but you could see how they had no confidence in their QB and would crumble after a mistake. It’s mental.

The Patriots after 2014 honestly believed Brady was so good that he could come back from literally any deficit if they held up their end of the bargain

LOAT (Luckiest Of All Times)...Tom Brady has lived a charmed life....The Seahawks SB was a loss for NE, than Pete Carroll screwed up....The Atlanta SB was a loss, until Matt Ryan and co. choked it away...And the Rams SB had way more to do with Belichick's defense than what Tom Brady accomplished....Could easily be 3-6 in SB's instead of 6-3...

And a ref could have easily called like 4 obvious holds on the helmet catch play or Welker could have held onto a pass and the 2017 defense could get one stop against a back up and he gets those 3 right back

2/3? Brady played a huge part in both the Seahawks and Falcons Super Bowls. The MVPs were well earned. And I think you're forgetting that the Seahawks wouldn't have had an opportunity to score a game winning TD if it wasn't for a miraculous catch a few plays earlier. That game was not won with luck.

Brady had nothing to do with NE holding the Rams to three points or Russell Wilson throwing the endzone pick that lost the game for Seattle...

Two out of the three SB's I posted had absolutely nothing to do with something Tom Brady had his hand in....Face the facts....

Brady tied the largest SB comeback of all time vs Seattle. If his team lost that game, it was because the defense gave up the Kearse catch which was one of the flukiest catches of all time and would have went down as crazier than the helmet catch. So even that SB was essentially “Brady led an amazing comeback, on the next drive the offense and defense had two crazy plays that cancelled each other out”. You can’t subtract his contribution from the win because of other factors influencing the game. That’s absurd.

Does Brady make his defense and special teams better somehow? Honest question at this point... In New England it was easy to just credit BB as to why the Pats consistently had great Ds and STs that would often bail Brady out when he didn't play well (and he bailed them out just as much, if not more, of course), but now it feels like Brady took that Patriots energy with him to Tampa. Nothing went right for him in 2nd half, but TB defense suddenly tightened up into a WALL and saved the game when they needed to.

Brady knows how to lead.

Remember earlier in the season where people started ridiculing him when he yelled at his offensive line?

Welp

You can live in fantasy.

Others can live in real life.

And Brady had nothing to do with the points that were scored by the Patriots in either game? Does he deserve no credit?
