NeptunePenguins
In my Madden 09 game it is the 2026 season and the 12-4 Eagles with their elite defense faced the 13-3 Patriots with their balanced team with an aging QB with very low arm strength but 5 rings (3 with the Eagles and 2 with the Patriots/the in game GOAT) The score was 38 to 3 at the middle of the 2and quarter with the Eagles up BIG! Then a comeback started and the Pats came back to 38 to 38. The game went all the way until double overtime and the Pats won by a field goal 41-38. The Pats QB threw for 560 yards and was like 40 something for 70 something with 4 TDs and 3 ints. The Eagles QB had an awful game going for only 12ish for 30 something with 3 or 4 ints. The in game social media is absolutely embarrassed since the Eagles are the most hated team in the league and failed to repeat their Superbowl chances (they beat the Raiders high powered offense in the previous Superbowl with the Raiders scoring only the in 10s). People are absolutely embarrassed that the Pats only won by 3 points with the Eagles basically falling flat on their face completely and that the Steelers likely would've won by a lot more because they have an Elite QB in his prime (they lost to the Pats in the divisional round though). Has there been a situation like this in the NFL before?

diamondbull424
I mean the Falcons from a few years ago should be embarrassed at least. No reason they should’ve lost that game and the Patriots won.
y*so*blu
Super Bowl XL, where the refs did more to beat Seattle than Pittsburgh did, is definitely up there. The Baltimore Colts' win over Dallas in Super Bowl V was just bizarre, and seemed to cement the Cowboys' reputation as the team that couldn't win the big one. Then they went on to three more Super Bowls in the 70s, winning two.
AFlaccoSeagulls
The Steelers in XL is #1 by far for me.

RandyMossIsBoss
No, and never will be. It's the SB. A win is a win.

Mazrimiv
Unexpected? Definitely. Less than impressive? Sure. Embarrassing? Nope.
JaguarCrazy2832
I dont care if my team had their helmets on backwards and their shoes tied together....if they win the game it wont be embarrassing.
TecmoSuperJoe
Steelers in Super Bowl 40 due to the officiating controversy felt like a handicap match a little bit. Giants beat the Bills in Super Bowl 25 due to a kick that could have easily gone in, but even so I wouldn't call that embarrassing. Doesn't matter. Who cares how you get a ring, as long as you get one.
RuskieTitan
No, but this is probably embarrassing even by NFL Gen standards.
