All the contracts have been updated on overthecap. They have the Raiders with 11.8M in cap space.

Mariota: 1.75M base + 1.75 signing bonus (up to 8M total value with incentives); 3.5M cap hit (3.5M guaranteed)

Martin: 1M base + 250K signing bonus + 500K bonus (?); 1.75M cap hit (250K guaranteed)

Incognito: 1.1M base + 1.02M per game roster bonus; 1.227M cap hit (1.1M guaranteed)

Dickerson: 920K base + 80K signing bonus; 1M cap hit (80K guaranteed)

Philon: 990K base; 850K cap hit (0 guaranteed)

Looking like a lot of competition for camp, with some FA signings not making the roster again. Similar to Randall, Amukamara a year ago. Looked good on paper when signed, didn't make the final 53

Guessing that's not counting the $8m for rookies?

Yes, the draft class isn't accounted for. But they don't need 8M in cap space for the rookies.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/las-vegas-raiders/cap/

Scroll down to the Projected Draft Pool Cap section.

The top 51 cap hit is 5.9M to which you have to substract the cap hits for the 4 players getting pushed out of the top 51 (850K x 4 = 3.4M). They need 2.5M in cap space to fit the class. Need a bit for UDFA signing bonuses too. And teams always keep a bit of room for flexibility.

sounds like we would be lucky to add one more free agent. kinda feel we paid too much on Wideouts. was there really a point in giving Zay Jones a raise If we signed Brown and Snead. Also feels like Ateman just taking up space, he hasn't made the team in like 4 years but gets a new deal. I would rather add more competition on LB/DBs. Surprised we haven't cut Richard yet at 3.5m. Do you really need Peterman if we brought back MM. Magnuson is a scrub too, could sign a cheap UDFA instead of pay him 1m. day 3 and UDFA could easily take their spots for alot cheaper

Magnuson 1m

Peterman 1m

Richard 3.5m

that's 5.5m, pays for alot of the rookie class salaries

You have to have backend roster players. Peterman is a cheap backup if Mariota is traded. Richard is the best pass blocking back on the roster. Magnuson is on a future/reserve contract.

If the FO wanted to sign LBs/DBs they would. Money is not the issue.

re: overthecap i question their numbers for Andre James. they have him showing a 2.5 mil cap hit this year, and making 3.5 mil for each of the next 2 years (those numbers dont add up to the 3/12.5 which had been reported

nothing reported yet re: the structure of kolton's extension

Wouldn't be the first time the first report on a contract isn't really accurate. I'm willing to believe the numbers they took 2 weeks to publish.

Richard, Heath, Hurst, Key, and Parker are all cut candidates.  Not saying any or all would be smart but those are the only players outside of Carr that save us money.

true. vinny had previously reported that the extension wasnt going to affect this year's cap number, but that turned out to be wrong since his cap hit is reaching 2.5 mil this year.

going with the draft cap numbers from spotrac... looks like we have just under 6 mil in room. could still clear more room if they get Carlson signed to a longer term deal than the tender which is sitting at 3.4 mil. can also potentially move on from Richard. giving Zay Jones 2.5 just seems excessive too

Correct... Nfltraderumors (on March 25th I believe) reported we need $3,459,745 to sign draft picks but that number chances with every Player we bring in that’s above the #51 in cap cost

Yeah the zay jones one is a shame, especially with it being guaranteed

What’s an even bigger shame is there’s a cap exception we could have used to resign our own player and didn’t use it on him.

”New “Veteran Salary Benefit” allowing up to 2 players with four years of service to remain with their club; up to an additional $1.25M in Paragraph 5 excluded from the salary cap by each club each year; increases throughout course of deal.”

https://nflpaweb.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/PDFs/CBA Side by Side 3.9.20 FINAL.pdf
page 2, right under chart

why didn’t we use this on Jones?
