I think Moehrig is ready to make an impact from day 1. He is too twitchy and intelligent not to.

Even Woodson got spanked when he first stepped onto the field.  DBs generally have a rough time in the first year no matter how good they are.  Not saying he can not be a force year 1 but chances are he is going to hit a few bumps in the road.

For sure he'll hit some bumps like any young DB, but he'll make some impact plays too. Not like Erik Harris last year.

He should be better than Harris.  I think he has a very good chance to be our best safety but so does Karl Joseph.

Safety I think is a bit easier to adjust than CB imo.

Meh I’d say safety has more responsibility esp if it’s a man scheme for the cb. Safety also adjust coverages etc safety to me is the qb of the secondary.

Sure they are but just being back there seeing the field is easier than being on an island.

A lot of it is mental though and Moehrig can definitely process very quickly.

Yeah, I still have no clue what they're doing at FS when it comes to depth. Both Gillespie and Joseph profile as strong safeties.

I wanted Hooker all along... at the very least there should be some veteran FS in the room with Moehrig

I think KJ can play FS in a pinch if needed and will likely be the third safety that plays both spots like Heath did last year. Plus IIRC Gillepsie played a ton of single high at Missouri.

FS in Bradley's scheme has a ton of responsibility too playing almost exclusively in single high, he'll be the last line of our defense.

Yeah watching Moehrig he's like the anti Jonathan Abram, he always seems to be in the right place at the right time. When you look at the best safeties in the league they aren't freak athletes they just have high football IQs and process the game quickly.

There are still some decent FA on the market, some guys I'd kick the tires on:

• Morgan Moses, OT

• Mitchell Schwartz, OT

• Russell Okung, OT

• Melvin Ingram, Edge

• Rick Wagner, OT

• Justin Houston, Edge

• Sheldon Richardson, DT

• KJ Wright, LB

• Geno Atkins, DT

• Le'Veon Bell, RB

• Todd Gurley, RB

• Kenny Vaccaro, S

• Kwon Alexander, LB

• Trai Turner, OG

• Larry Fitzgerald, WR

• KJ Wright, LB

If I had to pick two, they're my two.

Richardson gives us a solid DT which we still need.

Fitzgerald's experience would be invaluable to our young guys.

Yeah Fitzgerald would be a solid pickup, great for the locker room. I'd probably go with Moses as OT depth and KJ Wright as LB depth.

I like all the OTs, Trai Turner, Geno, KJ, Richardson, Ingram, Arby Jones

kinda hoping we sign 2-3 vet minimum type guys for competition/depth before camp starts.

it depends on what type of safety. For single high, there is a level of range that you have to have regardless of how smart you are. Its why you don't see very many teams run defenses that have a single high safety.
