Cheesy conference

  1. 100% 10-4 Norway Knights
  2. >99% 9-5 Rio de Janeiro Pirates
  3. 97% 9-5 Reykjavík Direwolves
  4. 55% 8-6 Hanoi Viet Kongs
  5. 48% 8-6 Anchorage Moose
  6. 0% 6-8 Little Rock Uni Royals
  7. 0% 6-8 Tacoma Thunder
  8. 0% 5-9 Chicago Fire
  9. 0% 4-9-1 South Africa Woolly Mammoths
  10. 0% 4-9 Lancaster Fighting Amish

Knights are the first team to clinch - AND put themselves in great position to grab the #1 seed. They hold the tiebreaker over the Pirates, but no idea who holds it between Knights and Direwolves. So Knights clinch the #1 seed with a win and a Direwolves loss or tie (or a win and two Pirates wins). Pirates hold all of the tiebreakers over the lower seeds, so barring two losses AND Kongs/Moose winning week 15 AND Kongs/Moose tying week 16, they will be in. Direwolves on the other hand, lose the tiebreakers against both the Kongs and Moose, putting them in a difficult spot. The fact that Kongs/Moose play each other week 16 means that Direwolves just need one win to clinch. Kongs and Moose need wins week 15 to open the door to leapfrogging the Direwolves, but for the most part, Week 16 is the thing that matters for their playoff bids

Salsa conference

  1. 100% 11-3 Freiburg Venom
  2. >99% 9-5 Richmond Flying Squirrels
  3. 96% 8-6 Rocket City Trash Pandas
  4. 68% 8-6 Scranton Papermakers
  5. 25% 7-7 Phoenix Rattlers
  6. 7% 7-7 Egypt Starfalls
  7. 4% 6-7-1 Antarctica Penguin Poppers
  8. <1% 6-8 Miami Sharks
  9. 0% 5-9 Pittsburgh Punishers
  10. 0% 3-11 Indianapolis Predators

These numbers are based on my best efforts at tiebreakers. Squirrels just need a win or any of about a million things to clinch. Rocket City I believe holds a bunch of tiebreakers, AND has a cupcake schedule for the final two weeks. They should also be in good shape. Scranton is definitely the most vulnerable, as they still play Phoenix and would lose that tiebreaker if they lose. It may turn into a week 16 play-in game on this side as well. Egypt and Poppers remain in the hunt, albeit needing to win out and have some help.

The week ahead

Squirrels @ Punishers - Squirrels are the much better team. They can survive a slipup, but would much rather lock it in right here

Thunder @ Mammoths - Two eliminated teams. Records might be slightly too good to be playing for the draft pick, so probably just playing for pride

Predators @ Rattlers - Predators are among the worst teams, and its absolutely critical for the Rattlers to take this game and stay in the hunt. If they win, they might be in a win-and-in mode against the Papermakers next week

Starfalls @ Poppers - Both teams are in bad shape, but a win for either could keep slim hopes alive, depending on what else happens around the league

Venom @ Direwolves - Venom have already clinched but trying to maintain momentum, Direwolves are 1-4 after an 8-1 start. They need the win to clinch a playoff spot and remain in the hunt for the division

Pandas @ Amish - Another playoff hopeful against a bottom team. Pandas need to handle their business and beat a team that they should beat to likely clinch, however a loss puts them at the mercy of the pack

Moose @ Knights - Somehow, this ends up being more consequential for the Knights than the Moose. The Moose can afford to lose this one, as long as they beat the Kongs. They CANNOT afford to win this one, but lose to the Kongs. The Knights need this one to maintain the #1 seed. If they slip up, they open the door to red taking back that spot

Fire @ Papermakers - Same story. The Papermakers desperately need this. Fire are a pretty solid team though, despite the record

Royals @ Sharks - Royals are playing for pride, Sharks to keep their slim hopes alive. A win probably still eliminates them though, given all the help they need to stay afloat

Kongs @ Pirates - Oddly, similar the the Moose/Knights story. Kongs can lose, but just need the week 16 game. The Pirates need to win to have any shot at jumping the Knights, and might need the win to maintain the division

No real GOTW in particular. I guess Venom/Direwolves, Moose/Knights, Kongs/Pirates are all matchups of top half teams, but for the most part all of the games have 1 team that needs it a lot more than the other

Knights do

nvm, did quick math and thought we would have the same conference record - but you would have better conference

therefore, to clinch the one seed you need either a Knights win, or a Pirates loss AND a Direwolves loss

Seems likely. I've got you pegged at 94%

Last week was huge for you with a win and us both losing

@Tk3 what's the record for most points scored in a season? It seems like we've slipped as of late so I don't think we're on pace anymore, but would be fun to watch over these last two if we're within reach.

I stopped mentioning it once teams PPG started really falling off the necessary rate

90+ points in 2 games is a big ask unless someone puts up a massive figure in week 15

Ha, yeah, that's out of the question. Oh well.
