spoiler alert for my playoff rankings, but you are in GREAT shape

Not only do you have a favorable schedule, but you are the only one of those teams that hold the tiebreaker over Phoenix

Yeah, I feel like this is the best team I have fielded since I've been apart of the league. Tannehill is pretty rock solid, never seems to kill me and has upside for big games.

It's ok that you got spanked by your daddy. It's all right. Sometimes we all just get out of line a little bit and just have to get knocked around to learn our lesson. You learned something today. And isn't that the real victory?

Spoiler alert, it's not because my victory was the real victory

Lmao. I haven’t been on in weeks or kept up since ravens dub. But GGs Pete. I ain’t gonna run away like you when I clap those cheeks. Dude all of a sudden has a Shakespeare play to attend to when he gets rammafied. Ggs my sons. Both you and trash as randy have seem to have broken the curse. Do big things Pete cheering for you brother.

Cheesy conference

  1. >99% 9-4 Norway Knights
  2. >99% 9-4 Rio de Janeiro Pirates
  3. >99% 9-4 Reykjavík Direwolves
  4. 53% 7-6 Hanoi Viet Kongs
  5. 43% 7-6 Anchorage Moose
  6. 3% 6-7 Little Rock Uni Royals
  7. <1% 5-8 Tacoma Thunder
  8. <1% 5-8 Chicago Fire
  9. <1% 4-8-1 South Africa Woolly Mammoths
  10. 0% 4-9 Lancaster Fighting Amish

Three teams basically locked in. Knights control their destiny (I think?). Pirates control their destiny for the division, but need help to get the #1 seed. We're almost certainly looking at a play-in game week 16 for Kongs/Moose, where the model prefers the Kongs (even on the road). However the Royals are back in as a darkhorse. It's a tough case since Kongs/Moose play one another, but they DO hold the tiebreaker over the Kongs, and (maybe?) the tiebreaker over the Moose, depending on the rest of the season.

Salsa conference

  1. >99% 10-3 Freiburg Venom
  2. 98% 8-5 Rocket City Trash Pandas
  3. 83% 8-5 Scranton Papermakers
  4. 82% 8-5 Richmond Flying Squirrels
  5. 37% 7-6 Phoenix Rattlers
  6. <1% 6-7 Egypt Starfalls
  7. <1% 5-7-1 Antarctica Penguin Poppers
  8. <1% 5-8 Miami Sharks
  9. 0% 4-9 Pittsburgh Punishers
  10. 0% 3-10 Indianapolis Predators

FINALLY, the pack all decide they want to be in the playoffs! We now have 4 teams fighting for 3 spots. Rattles stay close, and look out!, because they both Scranton and Richmond in their first meeting, and they play both of them again. There WILL be lots of attrition between that group of 3, which gives the Pandas a STRONG likelihood of getting in. Plus they are the only team who holds the tiebreaker over the Rattlers. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Technically, I think all 4 teams control their own destiny, and PHO/SCR and PHO/RICH games are going to be massive.

The week ahead

Mammoths @ Kongs - Actually a less consequential game for the Kongs than you would think, given the nature of playing the Moose week 17. But they really need to build momentum going into it

Pandas @ Poppers - An opportunity for the Pandas to get a stranglehold on a playoff spot

Amish @ Thunder - One team is playing for pride, the other for a draft pick (maybe both for draft picks)

Papermakers @ Moose - Bigger for the Papermakers than the Moose. They need more than 1 game separation considering they still have the Rattlers on the schedule

Sharks @ Fire - Two teams playing for pride. Or possibly for a historically unlucky season

Direwolves @ Starfalls - Two of the top quadrant teams early in the season, but shockingly the Starfalls have fallen basically out of the playoff hunt. Direwolves can clinch a playoff berth with a win, but more importantly, they are trying to keep pace in the division

Royals @ Knights - Royals trying to stay a darkhorse playoff candidate. They need a win and some help. Knights probably have this division locked up anyway, but the #1 seed is within their control, but they probably need a win here to get it

Pirates @ Venom - Winner clinches a playoff berth (loser might clinch anyway). Both want the win to strengthen their shots at their respective home field advantage

Rattlers @ Squirrels - GOTW! These are both bubble teams. Squirrels create major separation with a win, and maybe clinch a playoff berth. But a Rattlers win would leapfrog them over the Squirrels

Punishers @ Predators - Playing for the #1 overall pick - but this is a Burrow vs Herbert matchup! Neither needs a QB, so I would be VERY interested if either of these teams get the #1 overall

In the Hunt:

5. Phoenix Rattlers (7-6)

SoS Remaining: (-26.75)

Thoughts:

Even though the squirrels are behind now, they actually control their own destiny to win the division.

The Knights control their destiny for the 1 seed. The Pirates control their destiny for the division. The Direwolves have a more favorable schedule though, so the Pirates can't afford a slipup.

All 5 contenders in Salsa control their playoff destiny.

Royals need to win out, and have the eventual winner of Kongs/Moose to lose at least one of their other 2 games (if the Moose win, the Royals need Moose to specifically lose to the Knights). Or, the Knights can lose all 3 games. There are definite avenues for the meme team, but they need to WIN.

The Venom has by far the most difficult schedule left (Rio, REY, and Egypt) and RC has the easiest (Poppers, Amish, Preds). After this week, we might be talking about RC snagging them from behind.

Playoff Predictions:

Cheesy

Reykjavík Direwolves (9-4)

Norway Knights (9-4)

3  Rio de Janeiro Pirates (9-4)

Hanoi Viet Kongs (7-6)

Salsa

1 Freiburg Venom (10-3)

Richmond Flying Squirrels (8-5)

Rocket City Trash Pandas (8-5)

Scranton Papermakers (8-5)

WEEK 14 Preview
South Africa Woolly Mammoths @ Hanoi Viet Kongs

This game absolutely matters if LR wins. LR owns the H2H tiebreaker against the Kongs, so LR would control its destiny in terms of finishing ahead of the Kongs.

Rocket City Trash Pandas @ Antarctica Penguin Poppers

This is the toughest matchup for RC left. Too bad RC has a terrible division record, so I think thats out of the question. But they should be getting closer to locking down a 3 spot if they win

Lancaster Fighting Amish @ Tacoma Thunder

Will Tacoma continue to be a good team that doesn't win?

Will Amish fight for the 1 seed?

Scranton Papermakers @ Anchorage Moose

Huge game for both teams!

Scranton and Moose are currently both in the playoffs, but the loser can dip out.

In fact, this is my GOTW!

Miami Sharks @ Chicago Fire

Chicago may be the unluckiest team in history.

If they lose another nailbiter, that will only add to that legacy.

Reykjavík Direwolves @ Egypt Starfalls

REY needs to keep winning,  because Rio controls their destiny.

REY has a great chance to get the 1,2, or 3 seed.

Little Rock Uni Royals @ Norway Knights

Can the meme team keep on memeing their dreams?

They have many paths to get into the playoffs, and step 1 is winning this game.

The Knights need to keep winning to get the 1 seed. Even a small falter could definitely mean they won't get it, because both REY and RIO have chances to go 3-0 and steal the seed.

Rio de Janeiro Pirates @ Freiburg Venom

POWERHOUSE matchup.

This could be an early Nacho Bowl preview.

Lets see how both teams respond after losses.

Phoenix Rattlers @ Richmond Flying Squirrels

Elimination game for the Rattlers.

Richmond is in a position in flux....they could be anywhere from a 2,3,4 seed or bounced out of the playoffs, and none of those would surprise me (well, maybe the 3 seed)

Pittsburgh Punishers @ Indianapolis Predators

Lawrence Bowl?

If the Punishers get blown out here, they could cement their legacy as an historically bad team

At this point I honestly hope I keep losing these close games. Gets me higher picks and I can blame the team's poor record on bad luck.

PWNY/MER(Malf efficiency rankings) comparison.

I wanted to do a quick view on which PWNY teams are overrated and which are underrated if you factor in efficiency stats from the MER. In the quick view, I'm just going by ranking and not score.

Overrated = spots higher in the PWNY than the MER

Underrated = spots lower in the PWNY than the MER

Overrated:

Egypt Starfalls - 3

Scranton Papermakers - 1

Richmond Flying Squirrels - 1

Indianapolis Predators - 1

Underrated:

Rocket City Trash Pandas - 1

Little Rock Uni Royals - 1

Tacoma Thunder - 1

Anchorage Moose - 1

Miami Sharks - 1

South Africa Woolly Mammoths - 1

One back and they play each other.. means at minimum you need to go 2-1 to get into a tie if everything else breaks your way

I really hope you handle your biz and get into that race. I’m fully team chaos for the 4th seed (except please sim gawds don’t let me lose out and become part of that chaos, thx)
