^^ I just can't comprehend making the motivations for making that decision other than malice.

Greed.

He actually believes this helps his political career. He's obviously an idiot and short-sighted, but I think that's his actual motivation.

One reason to get a vaccine even if you have Covid previously:

Although antibodies from natural infection may provide some protection against the virus, evidence shows nothing protects against COVID-19 better than vaccines.

People who have recovered from COVID-19 should get vaccinated to reduce their risk of reinfection, which will prevent transmission and suppress the opportunity for more variants – like the highly contagious delta – to emerge.

“Natural infection will cause your immune system to make many types of antibodies and immune response to all parts of the virus, but only a small fraction of that response is actually protective,” said Nicole Iovine, chief hospital epidemiologist at University of Florida Health in Gainesville. “When you get the vaccine, the entire response is targeted to the virus's spike protein.”

No no. It’s not a vaccine. It’s a genetically engineered measles virus created to fight cancer. And possibly Covid….

Despite the title, I actually think this article fairly captures the emotional complexity of having to wear mask indoors again. The anger for example. Why should we wear a mask and be responsible if the unvaccinated can’t hold up their end of the bargain?

Dang, if you’re #teammoderna it looks like you win this round.

Moderna's (MRNA.O) vaccine may be best against Delta

The mRNA vaccine from Pfizer (PFE.N) and BioNTech (22UAy.DE) may be less effective than Moderna's against the Delta variant of the coronavirus, according to two reports posted on medRxiv on Sunday ahead of peer review. In a study of more than 50,000 patients in the Mayo Clinic Health System, researchers found the effectiveness of Moderna's vaccine against infection had dropped to 76% in July - when the Delta variant was predominant - from 86% in early 2021. Over the same period, the effectiveness of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had fallen to 42% from 76%, researchers said.

Wow. I didn't expect Pfizer to drop that much.

#TeamModerna

It’s because Moderna used a higher concentration of the drug which is why there were more side effects compared to Pfizer. But the higher concentration probably also led to antibody protection lasting longer in the body.
