Ok. We still don't know what it is, what the timetable. And you're comparing yourself to the highest calibre of Athletes. I understand  insight given experience but we're just speculating at best which is what people tend to with injuries.

Myself when I had the injury, when I was a D1 athlete at one of the more competitive programs for my sport at the time?  Not highest-caliber of athlete, but I wasn't some shlub off the street either.

it's not really armchair doctoring when you've personally had a similar injury.

Agreed.  I broke both the balls off my left ankle(not sure what the exact break was called, but they separated from my leg and took 7 screws and 2 plates to put back together) in 10th grade.  I still have pain and lack of movement in that ankle.

And they receive care from top tier health specialists.

The best doctors in the world can't magically mend shreaded ligaments. Damage is damage, where his quality of care will help him is specialists for rehab and recovery. But a lower leg injury almost always involves ligament damage of some kind, and if this was a separation and not just a clean bone break like PG had and was told he was extraordinarily lucky to have, his career is, at the very least, demonstrably altered.

They aren't the same, obviously, but I've had almost a dozen minor and major knee surgeries and the chronic pain is just overwhelming on certain surfaces some days. For a guy that needs to be able to plant, cut, and use that leg as a load bearing point to score, jump and transition this is a devastating blow.

At this point you just pray he didn't have a hard separation.
