 Barmore and Onwuzurike

I've never seen Onwuzurike play to be fair. But when I see Marvin Wilson as a consensus top DT prospect in the class, I can only imagine what most of the others are like.

An interesting tidbit I heard today from Daniel Jeremiah was that he has 2 DT’s in his top 70 and that this is the worst DT class he’s seen since he started evaluating in like ‘03.

I don’t get it. If you’re looking for Aaron Donald types, okay.

If you want a run stuffer, this class has those. If you want a pass rusher, this class has those. There’s just no 2 way DT.

I think that’s the issue for him, a 2 down run stuffer isn’t a terribly valuable player and easily found day 2-3 in most drafts.

Other than CB, the defensive players as a whole are weak.

If not for Horn and Surtain, the entire top 15 could be offensive picks.

I think the off ball linebackers are pretty good.

3-4 OLB or “edge” guys are good, but there isn’t a high end 4-3 base end.  The best edge guys are smaller.

corners are good.

Tackles are one dimensional.

Safeties are mediocre.

You should watch him

I actually really like him a lot. He’s more dynamic than Ballmore in my opinion. Great movement skills and great with his hands. If he fell to our pick in the 2nd we should rejoice.

1. A Draft Jok at 26

1. B. Draft a top 3 corner at 26

2. A.  Trade down a short distance draft Jamin Davis

2. B. Trade down to the 2and draft Asante Samuel jnr  and get a linebacker in the 2nd.

The only top 5 corners that will be there include Farley (damaged goods, imo), Newsome (damage waiting to happen) and Samuel (a runt), so I rule out 1.B.

I like Davis a lot but if it means passing on JOK, 2.A. is a no go.

Likewise, 2.B. is a no go because of the aforementioned Samuel.

Has to be 1.A...JOK!

I'd only take Davis if jo isnt their.

I'd draft samuel in the 2nd and a bigger corner in the 3rd.

It takes a lot of dbs to complete our roster, I want another two good good corners we need to be 5 deep

I’ll be honest, I doubt he makes it to the second, let alone our second.  His size isn’t nearly as big of a concern as people are making it out to be.  It’s not ideal, but he is physical and a solid tackler.

We need 4 corners and 4 safeties imo at a min that you feel really good about.

As of now I think we have 2 corners (No one should feel good about Greedy) and 3 safeties. There’s still a good bit of work to do there.

Some of this is rehashed but the more I read and listen to I definitely do not want any of these players at 26:

Barmore - the best of the bad?

Newsome - another china doll to add to our CB room

Farley - liked him a lot until I read into the back surgeries...back injuries generally do not get better

Collins - doesn't fit what we apparently want to do at all

Phillips - let him go make music

Bateman - nice, safe unexciting pick

Oweh - been burned once to often with Penn State DL
