That would speak in favor of your Jones pick as you don't have any of the next QB group as even a third round talent in a non compensatory draft.

The problem is it's a function of over-correcting last year's pick. The Eagles shouldn't be in a position where they needed to draft another first round receiver one year later. Now they've lost opportunities to address other holes on the roster which were apparently significant.

I get the angle of wanting to deprive an opponent their pick, makes sense. Other teams seemed to accept not getting their guy and picking up capital where they coild and I think I would prefer that given where that Eagles roster is.

Huh? We have holes literally everywhere. Lots of aging guys. It doesn’t matter what we picked. We weren’t gonna be good in 2020. We just needed to hit on our pick regardless of position after recent drafts. I’m sure they wanted corner more than receiver but both went off the board and the teams we thought we might be able to jump the Cowboys for them both took them when they fell to them.

Even with drafting Reagor who I am still high on. Our WR corps still needed a big boost besides him. We need to see what we have in Hurts this year and the best way to do that is to give him a competent weapon.

I almost always am in favor of trading down rather than up, but with our recent drafts and the guys we wanted getting wiped out right before our eyes I’m not mad we spent a little to secure our guy. I wouldn’t have trusted us not to reach or take a meh player if we traded back which says all you need to know with my confidence in Howie rn. A lot of us didn’t want us to move down from 6 to 12 cause we thought our options at corner and recover would be wiped out, but we still got a first and one of the top receivers. I can’t be mad at that.

I thought something like this was coming as soon as I saw him enter wearing those aviator style sunglasses. Hilarious.

He celebrated with his family when he got the call, TV was just late. But it was hilarious in the moment
