I'm the opposite (though I carry my weight really well, people never believe me when I tell them what I weigh). I was a damn good athlete in high school. Popped a sub 5 minute mile at 16 FFS. Then my genes hit and it was game over from there. I'm always told I "move well" for a big dude lol.
