The Cleveland Browns MUST BENCH Baker Mayfield IMMEDIATELY

biggie.

The NFL's-toughest QB-WR positional schedules warned us this would be a tough year for Mayfield (PFF:27th, FPPG:33rd, DVOA:18th) and his WRs.  He'll be better in 2022 but will he be worth the option year base salary jump from $920,000 to $18,858,000?  With no veteran franchise QB coming to town, Cleveland (like S.F., Denver, and Carolina) needs to get lucky in the 2022 draft.  The Browns have remarkably few glaring needs except at WR, where they've gone from one of the better corps to the abyss ("34th, behind two CFL teams").  A better than marginal LT would help, too.  The defense needs some beef but is remarkably good:  Agg:8th, DVOA:15th.

It's almost as if there were a problem with their coaching...

They have him for about 25 million next year on the 5th year option? They need to draft his replacement or see if he can be traded. He's far worse than Goff or Wentz at the time of their signings and they were not even close to worth the money.

You can't pay the 16th to 22nd best QB the money that a top 8 guy should get.

They missed:

- Illegal contact on Bakers 1st INT that sailed down the middle of the field.

-Facemask on Baker in the pocket that would have given them a 1st down inside GBs 15 yard line. Instead they got backed up and didn't score.

-False start on Teller in the 4th when it should have been neutral zone infraction on GB, should have moved the ball to long FG range. They had to punt instead.

-Pass Interference/Defensive Holding on the last play if the game that should have put CLE in position to kick a game winning FG at bare minimum.

There were 4 calls the refs either got incorrect or didn't make entirely. 3 of them directly impacting the Browns not scoring points because they were either in FG range or in the RedZone. The Browns lost by 2 points....

Those calls going one way is completely normal in Lambeau.

He's 19 million next year on the option.

It's fully guaranteed at this point, so they can only get under it by trading him
