Haha I’m def just being tongue in cheek here, but mariotas run was on like 2nd and 6, he fumbled it 1 yard short of sticks but his body landed over. So if he didn’t fumble it would’ve been a first.

what killed that drive was obviously the leatherwood penalty.

but we rip on Carr for putting the ball on the ground. Mariota did that today in what 1 snap out of 5.
again, it was leatherwoods fault the drive ended, but we are lucky it wasn’t recovered.
If Carr fumbled we’d rip him, so why not mariota? The first would’ve taken more time off the clock.

Because it doesn’t fit the narrative

Good

  • Zay Jones' usage as an underneath/intermediate receiver.
  • Carr's pocket mobility and ability to extend plays.
  • Josh Jacobs.
  • Interior pass protection and run blocking, in general.
  • Hunter Renfrow.
  • Mariota packages.

Bad

  • Carr's two picks.
  • Massive run lanes given up by the defense.
  • Leatherwood and Parker, the anti-dynamic duo.

Ugly

  • T.Y. Hilton touchdown.
  • Carson Wentz's play.

Went on the road and beat one of the hottest teams in the league, on the road in a playoff setting. I know guys like to discredit anything positive this team does, but this was a quality win no matter how you slice it. I’m glad we went up against the HOFer in waiting Carson Wentz, because had it been Ehlinger it would have been meaningless.

Time to give the defense some props, they’ve contained 3 dynamic running attacks in a row, Cle, Denver and Indy. They have been keeping us in games and the offense is doing just enough to get us some wins. That’s what a team is about, and I’m here for it.

Also, I know Renfrow is the guy that’s easy to root for but he has turned into a certified baller, he’s beating legit CBs and comes up clutch week in week out. It’s time to mention him when speaking on the top slots in the NFL, 99 catches and running.

As far as DC, I don’t think he has the weapons to put the team on his back, but if we can get what we’ve been getting from the run game the last two weeks and DC picks his spots to make plays I think we can be successful enough on that side of the ball to do damage.

Great win overall, so proud of this team. Just Win Baby!

Gotta give up to Zay I was crushing him early in the season. Wonder if the staff thinks he’s the WR2 going forward

I think he has the most to prove in this final game. Yes, he has had a nice little two and a half game run, but we have to remember that he has been dreadful for the balance of the season. I think avoiding him in deep situations has helped, but I still don't consider his upside more than quality depth. Even if he is re-signed next season, I would hope he is an open competition for Y with Edwards and a rookie or free agent (assuming someone is signed or drafted to be the primary X).

If we win next week, the Bengals are very likely the #3 seed in the playoffs, and we would be #6. Anyone remember what we need to work on from that game?

Anytime I look ahead we crumble, I just want to beat SD.
