There was no question about it; 0.00% chance the Chargers Front Office would've refused to pay Mike Williams (at least not on Justin Herbert's watch they wouldn't). Either workout a bit more friendly contract or just bite the bullet if you’re a team desperate for a WR. And like every other potential trade partner, a long term deal is on the horizon. A deal probably in the $20M+ a year range. Now before you boast about your available Cap, DK Metcalf would have to "WANT TO BE A JET" for the foreseeable future, which I doubt is the case. So unless your plan is to trade for and start franchising a disgruntled player shortly thereafter when the time comes, wouldn't get your hopes up.
