DigInBoys
I’m surprised there hasn’t been more discussion about this. The sooner the league gets to 18 games the better.

Unfair for that year, for sure, but it's meant to be equitable over the long run.
FrantikRam
Ask yourself how a team that had 9 road games made the Super Bowl this year - when you get the answer, that'll answer your question.
FrantikRam
Also, fun fact: the Rams play "at" the Chargers next year, so 10 games in SOFI.

You could argue they had 11 road games with both SF games played at SoFi.
vikingsrule
Isn’t home field advantage mostly a myth at this point?
checkcola
Well, they'd have to reduce pre-season down to 2 games if you add an 18th game in the regular season.
wackywabbit
I dislike the game added to the schedule as much as the next guy, but... everyone in the AFC got an extra home game this year. Everyone in the NFC gets an extra home game next year. There is no effect to standings of significance. Malfatron
Afc competes against afc and nfc competes against nfc for playoff position. Either the full afc or full nfc gets the extra home game.. 17 game season is dumb for other reasons. 16 is plenty

ChazStandard
With how much they want to play in London, they could split the extra games between London/Toronto/Mexico City and have every one play 8 home, 8 road and 1 neutral.
Aussie9er
Maybe they should make whom ever wins the pro bowl gets the extra home game the following season. Might actually get the players to atleast pretend like their trying.

Vegas still gives the home team about a 3 point bump on the line usually. If Vegas accounts for it, then I believe it makes some sort of difference. They only move the line a half point to 1 point if a non-QB star player is out.
MWil23
It's no more or less unfair than those of us who have lost a home game and been shafted by having to play a home game in London.
Jlowe22
Some teams were already getting boned out of home games by having to play in London.
