Cappa is better in literally every possible metric.

Cappa is better as a run blocker, but Williams is the better pass blocker.  Honestly, they aren't altogether than different as players and Miami got Williams for much, much less.

It wasn’t just the back-breaking penalties that nullified converted 3rd and long plays, he was the crack in the dam that all of the blitzes were targeting. If it was a sack on 3rd down, it was most likely him getting bulldozed.

He put on muscle but just wasn’t strong enough to anchor in pass pro. He’s mobile, though. So if you team wants a pulling guard, he’s your guy.   Road-grating run blocker? NOPE!

He only gave up 1 sack last year.  But yeah, he is the type of athletic OL that McD is going to be bringing into Miami.  He doesn't use the plodding maulers.

cowboy fans would be trying to badmouth him rn, as is tradition when your player signs with another team.

BS. No one is bad mouthing Cedric Wilson.  With Cooper, it’s a mixed bag.  If Gregory left, it would be a mixed bag as well due to obvious reasons.

What always happens in these threads about Cowboys players is Eagles fans take this opportunity  talk as much crap about Dallas.

Then, the team receiving the player overrated them and uses box stats to support why the player will be a huge upgrade  like, don’t bother listening to the people that watched and rewatched every minute of our team.

It’s like clockwork.

Shanahan offense runs a ZBS, so athletic guys is what’s needed.

Good deal, hopefully he can tone down the penalties. Looking at past seasons it doesn’t seem like it’ll be an issue.

Gregory did leave.

Also, lol. No one is doing that here. Honestly the people who are most positive about Williams seems to be fans of opposing fanbases. A walking turnstile would be an upgrade though over most 2021 Miami linemen, so yeah, I'm pretty optimistic about this being an upgrade. The contract is surprisingly stomachable, too, given what other interior OL are getting so far.

We will just have to disagree as I think Cappa is much better in every regard.

There are a lot of takes to make, but this isnt it. Conner sucks. He consistently gave up pressure in key moments. This guy is pretty much hated by everyone who has watched him.

That means he's an upgrade. He's replacing people that consistently gave up pressure in key moments, and also non-key moments.

Go with PFF over partisans. (Williams has been pretty good the last 2 years)

Also note that his 15 penalties this year were a horrific number that hurt his team.

Laremy Tunsil had 18 in 2019. It did not make him bad and exposed, just sloppy.

If he has 10+ penalties again next year then he was a bad signing. If he cleans that up then its probably a good signing.

BTW, Cappa and Williams were both ranked 4th of 5 on their lines by PFF, good players around very good or great players.

You seem to agree it's a clear upgrade then - our previous offensive linemen gave up pressure on every play, so I look forward to an OL who only gives up pressure at key moments!

(for the record I wasn't singling out your fanbase, in case anyone took it that way; was a general statement/joke, jesus)

No.  Wanted McGovern to get a shot, because Williams just wasn't very good and got a lot of penalties. Unfortunately, McGovern was worse. At least we know our LG isn't on our roster, unless we keep La'el Collins and move him to LG.

I felt like Doc Holliday last year.  We have 2 Connor's for you.  Both suck.

Wilson was a good slot we for us and cashed in.  Good for him.  We bungled the Gregory negotiations.  He is a very talented pass rusher. I wanted him back.  His only issue was getting busted for weed.  It's legal in Colorado and now only a fine in the NFL, so he's good.  Cooper wasn't worth the $20 mil/year.  Alot of that had to do with Dak not utilizing him.   There's also so many good wrs you can get in the 2nd to 4th rds.  They are the new rb .  I certainly didn't want us to franchise Schultz.
