No Willis is surprising, no? I thought for sure a team would trade up to get a 5th year option for him.

Seems like the 1st round vindicated the common consensus; this was a weak QB draft. Latest a QB has been drafted in the 1st round in 25 years (Jim Druckenmiller went 26th to the Niners in 1997).

For reference the horrible 2013 QB class had a QB go 16

I don't think any QBs had a true 1st round grade.

Pittsburgh had the advantage of practicing next door to Pickett all year so they could scout the heck out of him and have high confidence that he was their guy so they valued him about 14 picks higher or jumped a bit for a QB.

I expect them to fly off the shelf in round 2 (3 of them at least Ridder, Willis, and dealers choice for 3)

I like NFL.coms take on Quay Walker;

"Will Eventually Be Average Starter"

LoL. Well worth the selection.

I know, I'm being facetious. It is a fun take though, after all the debate here. I don't even know which scout NFL.com is using anymore, so take it for what it is.

So there is a YouTube vid about Jordan Davis looks like CGI from the ESPN telecast or wrap up.

It brings up a few good points on these Bulldogs.

They did not play that much per game for 2 reasons.

They had incredible depth and the won their games by:

  • 7
  • 49
  • 27
  • 62
  • 37
  • 24
  • 17
  • 27
  • 37
  • 24
  • 49
  • 45
  • 23
  • 15

There was no reason to play these guys 40 or 50 snaps a game.

JD has already lost 20 pounds as well and is aiming to lose 10 more. His stamina isn’t going to be an issue.

Here is the absolute failure of Strange as a 1st round pick.

He replaced Shaq Mason who was a very good player making good but not insane money.

Shaq returned a later round pick (4th or 5th?)

Its like Belichick made this swap with 2008's salary cap and rules in mind.

Its just bad business.
