How much money did Weaving want?  Red Skull is in IW for about 30 seconds of screen time.  It's not like First Avenger where he is the primary antagonist.

and for what the part was, Marquand did plenty good enough, especially since ^people^ didnt even realize it wasnt Weaving

I know some people would say "they made all those Billions, why couldnt they pay him?" but I actually respect sticking to their guns, especially for someone who has made it known his disdain for the part after he had it.

It is pretty absurd that he would want the same pay day for a bit part with very little screen time as he got for First Avenger...

I think maybe the problem is that he signed on for 3 movies, got one, and then Marvel said they weren't going to honor the original pay from the original contract for the remaining two when they asked him back.

Though i agree, for the bit part he would have gotten in Endgame, he wasn't worth the cash.  I do wonder if the role would have been bigger if he had agreed to come back.

I'm not sure if they really could have expanded more with Endgame already over 3 hours as it was.  Now, if they end up doing another Captain America that tells the story of Cap returning the stones, then that could be quite a way to expand on it and maybe pay Hugo the cash he wants to flesh out that ending.  Lots of possibilities there.

It would have changed the story quite a bit, yeah.  Which is probably how we ended up where we are.

The other possibility is that maybe they were thinking of bringing him back for one of the other Avengers movies.  He doesn't really clarify in that interview, that i saw.

This wasn’t a Terrence Howard situation simply demanding more money.  Marvel reneged on the deal.  Weaving just wanted what was promised him.  It wasn’t a lot of screen time but it was quite clear immediately that it wasn’t Hugo Weaving in Infinity War.  Red Skull had little gravitas at all bcuz of the recasting.  
 

And as much as I like Don Cheadle as an actor, his Rhodey doesn’t hold a candle to Howard’s at all imo.  So in retrospect, Marvel should’ve paid him too.

Did they? They aren’t obligated to continue with any actor as a specific character. And it sounds like Weaving wanted main/major villain money for a small part where he didn’t do much. Like 5 I front of a green screen, without all the makeup that he hated before.

Man, no one knew it wasn’t him. I read it all before and I still couldn’t tell a difference. Id imagine most of your average movie goers still don’t know that it wasn’t him. Just that Red Skull showed up. 

They probably didn’t know about him not wanting to return saying they would have to “force” him back in the role, not about Marquand replacing him, and they still probably don’t even know about this little thing. It’s just a very small minority of us that even pay attention to this compared to the millions of people who see these

I just finished Iron Fist season 1.  Honestly, it was pretty good.  They kind of wrote the character of Danny Rand to be 'stupid'.  He takes too long to figure stuff out that should be obvious.  I guess that was still him trying to get adjusted to the western world where things that are said aren't obvious and people have other intent and motives.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Red Skull in Infinity War.  That was a really cool way to bring him back after the end of Captain America.  But I knew immediately it wasn't Hugo Weaving by his voice.  I could tell the difference and I'm sure many others on here did too.  Did you not notice that Moff Tarkin was a CGI character in Rogue One?

And I'm glad Marquand made it his own and didn't try to sound like Weaving's version.  Ultimately it was like Red Skull was now more passive so there wasn't need to go big like Weaving did so well in Cap.

I'm kinda bummed we haven't gotten much on WandaVision or Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Thought maybe we'd get or a trailer or something with both coming out this fall.

Did you see a couple shots leaked of the "new" Captain America/U.S. Agent? That series has REALLY got me intrigued. They're pulling stuff from some very good source material.
