Forge
The guy that was almost replaced by Trey Lance last year will be replacing Trey Lance this year is a hilarious circumstance.

49ersfan
I didn't really care if Jimmy G went to the Seahawks...he wasn't going to elevate that team to a contender But the Rams? If Stafford went out for a significant time, he could definitely have kept their playoff/SB hopes alive Stafford's elbow issue may be pretty serious

N4L
Why would we want mac? If he is out for the season, then the pats would keep him. I am far more interested in future draft picks from that team. They are bad, and this might be Bill's last year or two in NE.

Mac is fine I believe they are just putting it out there that he has back problems... so if their season doesn't go well, they'll be able to say that it's hard to win games when your starting QB is injured. Let's distract everyone from the fact their offensive play caller is... not an offensive guy at all... They're expecting massive regression. So how best not to bruise your young QB's ego? Back problems. It might be true, but in other circumstances, they might not make as big a deal with it as they just did.
J-ALL-DAY
Quote According to multiple league sources, the Niners believed one of those teams -- the Washington Commanders -- was poised to become Garoppolo's next NFL home. But that plan was scuttled soon after; Garoppolo's shoulder wasn't healing as he and his medical team hoped. After further consultation with doctors, Garoppolo and his representatives opted for surgery that set the beginning of training camp as a target date for a full recovery. By March 1, the plan became public knowledge, and eight days later the Commanders moved on, trading for Indianapolis quarterback Carson Wentz. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34625369/a-heartfelt-goodbye-shocking-reunion-how-jimmy-garoppolo-san-francisco-49ers-came-together-again As most suspected, the Commanders were going to be the team that was going to trade for Jimmy before he got shoulder surgery. We were really going to get those 2 day two picks. Oh well, that surgery at least gives us a chance to make a run in the playoffs with Jimmy at QB.
NinerNation21
@Forge, do you know of any sports books that have a bet on how many snaps Purdy will see this year? We're one injury away from Purdy being the starter and we know Jimmy normally misses games each year.
