Keenum has more reliable weapons and better coaching

Or maybe your QB just wasn't as good as you hoped. Many believes everything bounced the Raiders way last season. Now it don't and they are exposed?

whats wrong with Lynch, Cooper, Crabtree, Cook, and a great offensive line?

The Oakland WR's can't catch or get open reliably. Lynch is underused and old (not helpful in the pass game either). Cook is fine but his hands have been notoriously inconsistent his whole career.

Cooper and Crabtree are big names. They're not playing well at all (Cooper especially)

Actually bricks are somewhat commonly used as a tool to help receivers catch.  Fred Graves was a big proponent of the technique.  Basic premise is that you become so fixated on actually catching the thing with your hands because you don't want to body catch a freaking brick that you can train hands-catching into muscle memory.

Didn't know that, but it does make sense.  That said...there's no way coaches are still allowed to do that today, right?

Is it the bad throws from Carr or the receivers?

So things are bleak because there are no sure fire first ballot HOF QB's playing today? When did you start following football closely?

The way I interpret it: There hasn't been a period in modern NFL history in which there haven't been multiple first ballot HOF quarterbacks active at once. Right now, with the end in sight for Brady, Brees and Rodgers, people are wondering who the next batch will be, and right now it doesn't look like there's anyone worthy of that mantle aside from maybe Russell Wilson, who'll be 30 next season. If nobody else emerges, it'll be the first period in the Super Bowl era without really great QB play. And I have to wonder if people will tune in to watch a league dominated by Jim Everett and Drew Bledsoe-tier QBs.

Guys who were considered first ballot HOF at the time? Or are now considered first ballot HOF QBs?
