Not sure how it's anyone's to lose at this point. It's about as wide open as you can get.

If UNC wins out, Maye should be in the driver's seat. Hell, I'd be inclined to put Caleb Williams at 1 or 2 right now before I put Stroud, Young or Corum there.

The absolute disrespect mentioning Stroud and not Bo Nix. Don't you know Bo is focused and having fun? And he also leads the nation in TD's.

I agree this is wide open. Can't count out out Hooker either, although he's on the outside looking in after last week. I personally can't see Corum winning it with all these great QB years, but a big game and win against Ohio State makes that a lot more likely.

Young isn't sniffing my top 5. Stroud, Nix, Hooker, Williams, Maye, and Corum are all in front at this stage for me.

My vote is still Drake Maye. Team is 9-1 and clinched playing for a conference title. He's accounted for the most yards amongst the candidates, he's tied for total TDs, has a  >11-1 TD/INT ratio and he's a friggin' redshirt Freshman.

They've also needed every single bit of his production to win games. He has a bad team at 9-1 and they've need all of him to beat bad teams. Their defense has given up more points, amongst Power 5 teams, than all but Indiana, West Virginia, Arizona, Colorado, Vanderbilt and Stanford. Those teams are a combined 19-41.

Tied: 9 games, 37-50 (74.0%), 644 yards, 9 TD, 0 INT
Losing 1-7:  8 games, 74-104 (71.2%), 865 yards, 7 TD, 0 INT
Losing 8-14: 3 games, 19-26 (73.1%), 264 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
Losing 15+: 1 game, 9-15 (60.0%), 202 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT (vs Notre Dame down 38-14)

Yeah I kind of agree at this point. The award has kind of become a thing where it’s the most outstanding player on a championship contender. Which if that’s the case, sure, give it to CJ or Corum or Hooker, etc. I’m not sure that should be the merit for the award, but maybe it just needs redefined altogether.

This feels like a Robert Griffin III season. There is no truly great candidate from a powerhouse (though Stroud has been great, you can argue he hasn't been as good as last season and I think voters take that into account), so give it to the actual most outstanding/valuable (offensive) player.
