The most interesting take away for me is that Rodgers seems genuinely OK with GB's decision to move on to Love at QB, and openly stated that his intention for the 2023 season is to play QB for the Jets.

I thought it was kind of funny that he literally mentioned that it probably would have happened already if not for his back to back MVP seasons.  How many times has that exact point been argued in the forum?

Rodgers has been the QB my entire adult life. He will be greatly missed and is one of if not the best players in Packer history. With that said, it is time for us to move on with Love.

I will now need to clean and retire my Rodgers away Jersey hopefully getting him to sign it next time he is up here in Southern Oregon for his next darkness retreat.

Don't worry about it.

Yes you did. You had this pegged as well. Props!

I dont know about that....but thanks. I'm just TIRED of all this ****

Time has come to move on - for all parties now - and I'm really eager to have a "normal" football TEAM once again.

They won 39 games over 3 season. Went to the NFC championship game twice in a row. One of them being at home. How does a team do that if they didn’t go all in?

LAR and TB went overboard to win their SBs. For some reason, GB wasn't as fanatical in their pursuit of upgrades during that time.

No. Org had a really strong report card, including "family".

Aaron is a very very very loyal person to people he likes. He takes perceived slights against his people bigly and holds outsized grudges.

He says he understands it's a business, but his emotions don't play along with his words very well.

I have to give him credit for defending Hackett. While he was clearly way out of his depth as a HC (and also got stuck with the Wilson situation), but likely still a good OC.

My 2 cents: See a lot of dumb comments on here and the Internet in general on both sides of the fence. This is a not a day to get pissed off at Aaron Rodgers or Gute. Frankly, it's not a day to celebrate in any fashion. It's a sad day. If you're actually a Packers fan, it's a sad day to lose one of the greatest to ever play for the Packers -- the longest tenured Packer ever. It's sad that we'll never see No. 12 run out of the tunnel at Lambeau anymore. It's sad that this day is finally here, regardless of the reason.

That being said, being sad about seeing the end of Rodgers' time as a Packer doesn't mean you're "riding Rodgers' ****" or whatever dumb comments people around here repeat on the daily. It's perfectly fine that the Packers are deciding to make a move and give a Love a real shot at being the guy. There's some excitement about the unknown there. Not going to fault Gute for doing his job as a GM and finally making the tough decision that he wasn't ready to make the last few years. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. This isn't a "fire Gute" moment because the Packers have decided to move on from Rodgers.

Either way, I'll leave it with thanking 12 for the memories over the years. Sad to see him go, but excited for the unknown in 2023 (and hopefully beyond) with Love at the helm.

What a great post. It's clearly time to move due to the situation the team is in.

And they would have won the Super Bowl in February 2021 if Bakhtiari doesn't tear his ACL right before the playoffs. I'll always be convinced of it. His absence was glaring against the Bucs in the NFCCG. Might have pulled a back to back and repeated the next year as well without that injury.

They didn’t go to those lengths but they had enough to get the job done, there’s no doubt in my mind. They just fell short. It happens. Only 1 team can win it all.

But it hurts to know they left some fuel behind for the journey. Gute was too worried about the draft pick value table, then trying to win a SB.
