Every ring you take away from Mahomes makes it unrealistically more difficult for him to pass Brady. If he never wins another ring, what career stats would he need to reasonably pass Brady as the greatest of all time (which I differentiate from "best" of all time)? It would have to be something absurd, better than he currently has. If he gets 4 rings, that would make him more on pace.

This is a nonsensical argument though.

There is no metric that says Brady was better than Mahomes for their first six seasons. Not a single one.

But Brady had three rings while Mahomes has one.

If we extrapolate that pace out, Brady could have won nine rings to Mahomes three and Mahomes is still a SIGNIFICANTLY better player.

But we know Brady eventually became a better player on less successful (generally speaking) teams. Funny how that happens.

Like nobody would argue that Brady 2000-2005 is better than Brady 2006-2011 - but guess what their ring counts were?? 3 to zip

To me GOAT is a combination of achievements+skill. You can't be the GOAT with 0 rings, even if it's a team sport.

Best player is different, and skews much more towards just raw ability and personal performance. For example, there's a strong argument that Rodgers has been better than Brady as a QB throughout a lot of his career, but I certainly would never consider Rodgers the GOAT. When you make these comparisons, they are big picture comparisons for a reason. Brady wasn't special 2000-2005 from a skill perspective, but he won rings. 2006-2015 Brady put up the personal performance/dominance. Big picture = Brady GOAT. You remove either of those, and it's perhaps not the case.

The earlier in someones career you compare players, the less meaningful it is to make any claims or predictions, which is why it's hard to really speak on behalf of Mahomes in a way other than meaningless fun/banter. If he retired tomorrow, he wouldn't even be HoF. If he plays out the rest of his career and wins 0 more rings, even with an incredible individual career performance, I wouldn't consider him the GOAT by my definition, even if he was a better raw QB than Brady. If he wins a few more rings and keeps up some level of dominance over a period of time, he could very well pass Brady.

Saw something about comparing the Bengals to last years Chiefs team and they think last years Chiefs team lost because of fatigue and so well thr Bengals because of one day less rest lol.

These are freak athletes they aren’t fatigued from one day less rest.

And the Chiefs didn’t lose because of fatigue they lost because of messing up by the goal line before halftime or that game is over

Bettors are starting to realize the panic over Mahomes' ankle may have been overblown:

Well, that was short-lived. Whatever concerns the public had over Mahomes’ ankle are dissipating with each new video of him walking, practicing and leaving press conferences without a limp. By Thursday, the line flipped back in favor of the Chiefs, and now it’s exactly where it started at BetMGM.

Mahomes handing the ball off in practice and taking 5 steps without limping during interviews  doesn’t prove he’s not gonna be compromised at all Sunday.

Well, you’re the one who said the line moved in the first place because Vegas had some super secret inside knowledge about Mahomes’ ankle being really bad. Now it’s favoring the Chiefs and it doesn’t matter, his ankle is still really bad and he’s gonna be really “compromised”?
