jleisher
Yes, I know it's way too early for this post, but it's getting boring. Packers are sitting at $13.9 m in cap space. There seems to be some noise out there that the Packers need to sign a veteran QB. The most popular name is Teddy Bridgewater. I'm in agreement with signing a veteran QB, so prediction #1, Packers sign free agent QB Nick Foles to a one-year deal, worth $5m. 2023/24 QBs: (2) Jordan Love #1 Nick Foles #2 Sean Clifford (#3 PS) Running Backs, Packers seem to be in good shape here? Prediction #2, Packers AJ Dillon out produces Aaron Jones. Prediction #3, Patrick Taylor doesn't make the team. 2023/24 RBs: (3) Aaron Jones #1 AJ Dillon #2 Tyler Goodson #3 Lew Nichols (#4 PS) TE's, now this is a fun group. Prediction #4, Packers resign "The Big Dog" Mercade Lewis to a two-year deal worth $4m and then release Josiah Deguara. Lewis offers blocking and leadership on and off the field. 2023/24 TEs: (4) Tucker Kraft #1 Luke Musgrave #2 Marcede Lewis #3 Tyler Davis #4 Austin Allen (PS) Cameron McDonald (PS) WR, again there's a cry for some veteran leadership. I don't see it happening. 2023/24 WRs: (6) Christian Watson #1 Romeo Doubs #2 Samori Toure #3 Jayden Reed #4 Dontayvion Wicks #5 Malik Heath #6 Grant DuBose (PS) Duece Watts (PS) Jadakis Bond (PS) O-Line, big prediction here. Prediction #5, with the growth in Nijman, Tom, Jones and Walker. The Packers trade David Bakhtiari LT to the Jacksonville Jags for 2024 2nd and 5th rd picks. Jags move Walker Little to RT and Bak slides into the LT spot. Prediction #6, with the extra cap space after the Bakhtiari trade, the Packers sign a veteran, but not at tackle. Packers sign All-Pro center Ben Jones to a two-year contract. 2023/24 OL: (9) Zach Tom LT Elgton Jenkins LG Ben Jones C Jon Runyan RG Yosh Njiman RT Caleb Jones T/G Josh Myers C/G Rasheed Walker T/G Royce Newman G/T Chuck Filiaga G (PS) DJ Scaife C (PS) Luke Tenuta T (PS) ST: (3) Anders Carlson K Pat O'Donnell Matt Orzerh LS Daniel Whelan P (PS) Defensive Line, here again the Packers make a move. Prediction #7, Packers sign free agent DL Shelby Harris to a two-year deal. 2023/24 DL (6) Shelby Harris RE Kenny Clark NT Devonte Wyatt LE T.J Slaton NT Karl Brooks DE Colby Wooden DE Antonio Moultrie DL (PS) Jonathan Ford NT (PS) ILB is pretty cut and dry. Prediction #8, Quay Walker will make the Pro bowl. 2023/24 ILBs: (4) Quay Walker ILB De'Vondre Cambell ILB Eric Wilson ILB/ST Isaiah McDuffie Tariq Carpenter ILB/ST (PS) Edge, love the depth they have this year. I see no reason to change anything. Prediction #9, Packer's sign Rashan Gary to a mega extension. Prediction #10, Brenton Cox Jr. outplays Lukas Van Ness. 2023/24 Edge: (6) Preston Smith Edge Rashan Gary Edge Kingsley Enagbare Edge Justin Hollins ILB/ST Lukas Van Ness Edge Breton Cox Jr. Edge CB, they should be in good shape if Stokes can return. I believe he starts the season on the PUP list. 2023/24 CBs: (5) Jaire Alexander #1 Rasul Douglas #2 Keisean Nixon #3/RS/WR/RB Corey Ballentine #4/ST Carrington Valentine #5/ST Eric Stokes CB (PUP) Tyrell Ford CB (PS) S, biggest, boldest prediction yet. Packer ship the draft picks from the Bakhtiari trade, Jags 2nd rd and 5th rd picks, Darnell Savage S, Sean Rhyan OL, Jonathan Garvin Edge plus an extra 2025 4th round pick to Arizona Cardinals for Budda Baker S and 2025 5th round pick. 2023/24 Ss: (5) Budda Baker #1 Jonathan Owens S #2 Rudy Ford #3/ST Travarius Moore S/ST Dallin Leavitt #5/ST Benny Sapp S (PS) Anthoney Jonhson Jr. S (PS) Sure, it's unrealistic, but it doesn't hurt to dream. Old Guy
This is as bat**** crazy as your mock drafts! If Gute gives up more for an safety who wants to break the bank than he gets for an All-Pro LT, he should be fired on the spot. This isn't a dream, it's a nightmare. We have a chance to have a dominant offensive line for our young QB and you want to trade his LT. Edited July 3, 2023 by Old Guy
mikemike778
I'm assuming this is a 'what you would do' rather than any element of prediction. Obviously its just for fun but this seems to be so far wide of the mark in terms of the direction the team is going its untrue. Started bad with wasting 5m on Foles and got progressively worse.
coachbuns
Good breakdown of players/position but getting rid of an all pro LT for a 2nd and 5th round draft choice is goofy. To each their own in what they think the Packers will do but some of the ideas in this breakdown is kind of head scratching.

packfanfb
Pre-First Preseason Game Initial 53-Man Roster Prediction (with 16-man Practice Squad): Offense (24) QB (2): Jordan Love, Sean Clifford RB (3): Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Tyler Goodson WR (5): Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Samori Toure, Dontayvion Wicks TE (4): Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, Josiah Deguara, Tyler Davis OL (10): David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Josh Myers, Jon Runyan, Zach Tom, Yosh Nijman, Royce Newman, Sean Rhyan, Rasheed Walker, Caleb Jones Notes: QB is pretty easy. RB - comes down to Goodson vs. Taylor for the No. 3 spot. Could easily be Taylor due to ST ability, but Goodson just has too much upside with the prospect of both Jones/Dillon being gone in 2024 so I give the nod to Goodson. WR - Think the Packers go light and stash some extra guys on the PS. No clear cut No. 6 guy worth a spot. TE - pretty easy OL - Packers once again go heavy with 10 guys. Possible they lose Bak to a mid-season trade or after this year, and same with Nijman, so I don't think they want lose a guy like Walker or Jones. Rhyan does just enough to grab a spot, especially with Hanson hurt. Defense (26) DL (6): Clark, Slaton, Wyatt, Wooden, Brooks, Ford EDGE (5): Gary, Smith, Van Ness, Hollins, Enagbare ILB (5): Campbell, Walker, McDuffie, Wilson, Carpenter CB (6): Alexander, Douglas, Stokes, Nixon, Valentine, Ballentine S (4): Savage, Ford, Owens, Leavitt Notes: DL: Pretty easy. Packers could decide to go with 5 here, but Ford has had a decent camp and could be a viable run stopper. EDGE: 4 locks and Hollins has been running with the 1s with Gary out so he seems secure unless Cox comes out of nowhere in the preseason. ILB: Packers could go with 4 here but I struggled with letting Wilson or Carpenter walk due to their ST ability. Wilson was our best ST player last season after we signed him and Carpenter is a guy I see us wanting to keep around. CB: 4 locks and Valentine is balling right now. He'd have to crash hard not to make the team at this point. I think Ballentine beats out SJC and sneaks onto the team, again, due to ST ability. S: Weakest position group (probably by far) on the team and while 4 guys is a light room, I think the Packers feel okay given that Douglas can play S if needed. Leavitt is basically a ST-only player, but beats out Moore, Gaines and Johnson Jr. for the last spot. I wanted to find a spot for Johnson because I loved the draft pick but he's been extremely quiet in camp so far. ST (3) K: Carlson P: O'Donnell LS: Orzech Notes: Whelan is booming the ball in practice but I think the Packers give the nod to O'Donnell because he's a veteran holder working with our rookie kicker. Initial Practice Squad (16) QB: Alex McGough RB: Patrick Taylor, Emanuel Wilson WR: Grant Dubose, Malik Heath, Bo Melton TE: Austin Allen OL: Luke Tenuta, Kadeem Telfort DL: Chris Slayton EDGE: Brenton Cox, (Kenneth Odumegwu - IPP) ILB: none CB: Kiondre Thomas S: Innis Gaines, Anthony Johnson, Jr. K: (New Signing) P: Daniel Whelan

I might make two or three tweaks. If Cox shows anything as a pass rusher, we keep six and maybe one less iLB or OL. I think Sean Rhyan blows by Newman by the end of preseason. Cox making it and Newman being cut would not surprise me in the least. I think we could still go with only 4 iLB as well. The shocker might be we bring back Crosby and put Carlson on the PS. Chili
If we want to put Tyler Davis on IR we have to keep him on the 53. Since it sounds like the coaches think he's one of (if not the) best special teams players they will look to keep him.

Brat&Beer
One thing it seems I'm seeing a lot of this year is Royce Newman ending up on his back. Not a good look. Seems to be a regressing player.
