O'Connell:  "Excited to add Cam to the roster and throw him in the mix with some of our other running backs. I think he's a guy I have a personal history with, but he's really excited to be here. We look forward to him eventually being a part of what we do next week, but it's a little too soon to ask him to go this week. More than likely, he will be down for the game, but he's off to a great start here, so we're excited about that."

I'd really like to see Jones/Wonnum step up this week. Herbert is too good to let him stay clean in the pocket.

True but the Vikings corners are so suspect outside of Murphy, it is almost impossible that the Vikings do not give up major yardage in the passing game regardless of pressure against one of the deepest if not the deepest WR core in the NFL.  Chargers played very two solid defenses in Miami and Tennessee the past few weeks, so they could breakout against the Vikings but who knows.

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Minnesota Vikings elevated wide receiver Trishton Jackson from the practice squad. The move was expected after the Vikings placed wide receiver Jalen Nailor on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Nailor was a punt gunner for the Vikings on special teams and contributed on other special teams units. Jackson looks to fill that role for the Vikings on Sunday afternoon.

O'Connell:  "It's been a good week at practice. These guys have really been purposeful and intentional with how we've handled everything this week with a little extra time to prepare. Now our focus is solely on being a confident group to go put all that preparation in play against a really good football team. I'm looking forward to being back at home in front of our home crowd and getting that environment to help bring us home, hopefully with our first win, but it will be a heck of a challenge."
