They agree

This completely sucks for us. He has been a fantastic recruiter and coach (one knock I have for him is he is great at recruiting and great in regular season, but post season he can't win the big one).

He was our 3rd coach in 7 years and we got better each time. Only problem now is that those coaches were hired by the AD who is retiring. I trusted him to make good decisions as to who to hire. But we have a new AD now and I'm not sure how he will do in finding a good replacement.

Really sucks as I was hoping we'd have a few more years before he left, but his stock couldn't be higher and he is only gonna coach for another 13 years or so so this is his last chance for generational wealth.

But in terms of the program? It's a step down IMHO.

I would not have left for Indiana tbh.

I see your point, but the man was making 700K at JMU. Let's assume JMU at least doubles it... Indiana probably doubled that number? I haven't seen what the numbers are, just assuming. He's 62 or whatever, this is his, at worst, retirement package.

Indiana with the basketball money can absolutely afford that.

He’s also probably lightening his work load substantially as well.

It’s the same reason Fleck left the MAC for Minnesota
